Too little too late for me - it was obvious from game 1 this season that the squad was too small and short of adequate strikers. What steps will the board take now to put things right for next season? Will they appoint a manager after a proper selection process has taken place? Will they give our best players proper longer contracts? We should be told now.

Although apologising, they are quick to blame others. Responsibility lies at the top. A feeble statement which covers nothing that we did not already know.
Wycherley said he would listen to the support when it comes to appointing a manager at the end of the season (Quote from Fans Parliament). The vast majority don't rate Jackson and I bet he doesn't listen.

"There would have been funds available if the right player was available."...now that's a strange statement, every other club manages to get at least a couple of players in that they are seeking, we didn't even get one!!...and you would have thought out of 20 loanees, we might have got 2 or 3 half decent ones. It goes on to say ""We believe we have supplied competitive budgets to cement ourselves as a League One club with aspirations of the play-offs," the statement added. WHAT!!..they haven't spent a single bloody penny on buying players, but they have given us a decent budget!!, just thrown what little they did have on cr*p loan time wasters .... so its ok if we have a decent budget, but we wont spend any of it!...and they wonder why we have got relegated.. what a load of tosh.. it should have read..."look we have money in the kitty (your supporters gate money), but if we can get loan players in without having to spending any of it, we might just stay up in this league"... now that would sound nearer the mark...

It says that loan players are more expensive and not a cheap option. GT was saying money was available for the right players at the Q & A in August. As for AJ, he is just a club apologist !!!!!

“This is a useful statement from the board"...come on AJ we've been shafted, prey tell what bit of use was that statement ... well before Xmas we were saying we need to get rid of some loanees and bring some of of our own players in...we could have got Grey and Benson in from Luton, Gregory from Cambridge for the beginning of the season, players like that would love the opportunity and be cheap as chips, but then we would have had to spend some of RW coffers...totally shafted! ..we all knew the score(no pun intended) right from the start, no incline to bring players in it was all hope for the best....<grr>

"it was all hope for the best".......I feel that is probaly the best thing being said. There was no real plan only a pile of half hearted wishes. I'd rather a plan that fails than no plan at all.
Let's say we bought a lemon....at least we could discuss that! There's no point in discussion of loanees, we've talked too much about a load of dross OR players that we could never sign.
Now, to be a hypocrite, what the hell happened to Eaves? I feel that the management couldn't motivate him....perhaps they should move on!

I don't think Gray would want to come back being as we released him.

AJ is no apologist. and i have written every day in the star. we are not down yet, probably and probably we will do well next season if the manager is allowed his own squad. bring on the youth.

AJ,
Jackson brought in loan players that were not even fit to start a game - that tells us all we need to know about his powers of player selection. We can do much better if we actually open the job up to other candidates - there are many decent managers out of work who would love the chance to work at our club despite the pickle we are in at the moment.

we can also blame jackson for being in charge of coaching the players all season up to his managerial posting. i assume he could only coach and "bring on" what he was given by GT. yes his loanees have been no better than GT's.

At least Jacko has brought the youth on recently , as he was forced to by clubs reclaiming their lemons and injury to our players. finally he had to resort to bradders as the barrel of lemons was empty. what a difference he and taylor have made. what more of a difference would they make with an experienced striker up front.

no not an apologist, but a realist believing Jacko is a done deal. paul tisdale of exeter was and still is my choice and i make no apologies for him either. FS AJ

rest assured AJ will keep on writing to the sloppy, as i have done twice today. the sloppy are wide open for comments by readers and supporters. an opportunity for our comments to be read on line, even on Roland's Tablet. why not have a moan on there. but a health warning! never try and be constructive if you want to avoid being called an apologist!
