The mighty toffees face the megastars of Manchester City, a win for Manchester sees them get ever closer to the Premier League title and a victory for Everton will keep them in touch with Arsenal. As we all be Evertonians on Saturday, let's get it stickied!!!!
This game determines potentially how high we can finish imo. Should city win, I think thats it. Should they fail to win, then its all on.
YEAH! WE get to be Everton fans for a few days. I like to bang my head against the wall and pee in the sink!
As much as Everton fans want to have us believe their team will throw the game: 1) Everton could (albeit not likely) take 4th place and Champions League. I'm pretty sure they'll do what they can to finish with as good a result as possible given Arsenal's tendancy to bottle things. 2) They have to get at least one point in their last two fixtures to take 5th (and guaranteed European football)- otherwise Spurs could very likely get 5th. Everton's other game is Hull away. One they're likely to win- but away on last day of season is always a risk. Everton aren't going to throw the game away. Some of the more plastic of their fans may want to lose... but the team won't.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-Everton-beat-Reds-title-rivals-Man-City.html Leon Osman has promised Liverpool that Everton will do all they can to beat Manchester City this weekend and tilt the Premier League title race back in favour of their Merseyside rivals. Liverpool are relying on a favour from their neighbours after Sunday’s damaging defeat at home to Chelsea handed the advantage to City. On paper, Saturday’s trip to Goodison Park is the toughest of City’s final three games and Osman has reassured Liverpool that Everton will be professional in going for victory as they try to snatch fourth place from Arsenal. ‘Absolutely,’ said the Everton midfielder. ‘We’re professionals and it’s what we do. It’s a big game at Goodison and we want to enjoy it and win it. ‘City needed to rely on a slip-up by Liverpool to give them a chance so they’re probably favourites now and it’s up to us to stop them. ‘A lot of clubs will be watching this game very closely but we’ve got to put all that out of our minds and do what we always do and go into the game to win. ‘While it’s still mathematically possible we’ll be aiming to achieve it (a top-four finish). We can only do that if we win our last two games which is what we want. ‘With us playing first and being able to put the pressure back on Arsenal, it will be a good thing for us if we make sure we try and win that game.’
Not going to lie, not a fan of this type of thread about other teams but I understand why it has its importance. I think WHU will be more of a game though for some reason.
I said I don't like it above. Comes across as desperate (which obviously we are ) and will come back to bite us on the arse should Man City win as expected.
