Rovers have been told by The Football League to transfer its share of The FlL to Cambridge by the time of The FL's AGM on 6th June so make of that what you want!

its a regulation that has to be followed. currently no decision has been made over wycombe. until then rovers still have to follow rules and regulations too. otherwise we would end up with fines or worse.

here is the regulation: 'Under the Football League Articles of Association, each club is entitled to one share in the Football League, which it must surrender upon relegation from League Two under Regulation 7.3.'

so as we have been relegated, we have to hand over our FL share to cambridge.
when the situation between wycombe and rovers is over, if you get no points deduction then nothing happens.
but if you do get a points deduction then you will have to hand over your FL share to rovers under regulation 7.3 as we would be replacing you.

dont read too much into it thinking a decision has been made <ok>

As no other club has been deducted points for thirdparty ownership I feel it would be unlikely for the FA to do this now. how ever I have no faith in the FA.

Any idea when this will be put to bed one way or another? I wonder if our new contracts are conditional upon us not being relegated.

    no idea ron <ok>
if there is further punishment then whatever that is im sure wycombe would appeal of they can.
or if there isnt any further punishment then rovers may take it further if they can.

    could be dragged out further!

hereford has been expelled from the conference prem due to finances. relegated chester fc has now been reinstated back to the conference prem.

Didnt your chiarman say at your EGM that he had a meeting on the Thursday and should hear the beginning of the following week with a result to the investigation??? Well that was awhile ago and still nothing. Did he lie to you or is it a little worrying that the FA is still investigating?

In our local paper, at the bottom of this story in the last paragraph, it says a decision will take up to another 3-4 weeks http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/ready-...hairman-Nick/story-21285762-detail/story.html

My opinion is that it looks good news for us that the FA is still investigating and not just dismissed Rovers complaint.
But a potential 4 week further wait is bad news for us as surely they wont relegate you and reinstate us that close to the new season.
Cant believe its taking them so long!

I still think Rovers just want compensation for the money lost due to the relegation and not interesting in being reinstated this late.

    Sorry CJS,
But i think the F.A is just running your clock down, as long as the investigation is going on you cant take any futher action and the closer it gets to the start of the new seasom the fewer options your board will have.
I think the conference fixtures come out around the 7th.I wouldnt be surprised to see something then. Have you seen this.

    http://www.bucksfreepress.co.uk/spo...assurance_as_Rovers_investigation_rumbles_on/

And as far as compensation is concerned I cant see any way of proving direct causality between the Phillips transfer and the BRFC relegation unless you can prove the butterfly effect.so dont get your hopes up.

I dont claim to be a legal expert or have any insider knowledge unlike others on forums ive read its just how i see it and of course i could be completely wrong but although i may disagree with our Chairman on a load of stuff Ive never questioned his integrity unlike that of your Chairmans prime witness.

Then you'll have to sue The FA after they fined us £10,000 so good luck with that. You were relegated after we both played 46 games on goal difference not by something that happened 4 years ago.If the money paid to our former owner was witheld and used to buy a decent striker we wouldn't have been near the relegation battle so how did we benefit? It's got to the point where i wish we had only won 1-0 at Torquay so Rovers would have been relegated by 1 goal which would have made Rovers fans feel even worse.
Higgs should take relegation with dignity and stop implying that relegation was not his fault,he has run the club for a few years now and last season wasn't the first time you were near the relegation places in League 2 and he's trying to deflect blame on anyone but himself.

It wouldn't surprise me if we were deducted points making it difficult for us to avoid relegation this season. And we could, potentially, find ourselves swapping places with Bristol Rovers next season.

    Hi Ron
If Don Woodward has told us the truth I cant see any basis for a deduction it would be stretching the definition and imposing an additional penalty. In the Q & A he was asked did the investigation concern other players. no.
I think we read too much into this delay.

Well, he didn't exactly tell us the truth on TV did he. He wasn't lying but, as it turned out, it wasn't the truth. Maybe he interprets things with a naive optimism. We'll just have to wait............ and wait, and see what comes out.

Yes "naive" if he were a little less so we may not be in this position . That said for this investigation to turn up anything would be quite a jump. as an aside it may be of interest that the transfer to the trust was undertaken by one of the best law firms in the country.

    In the Daily Mail today
"Football agent Phil Smith, who received a six month ban for breaches of third party owership in the transfer of Matt Phillips from Wycombe to Blackpool, has had the suspension he described as 'completely out of propoortion' reduced on appeal to seven weeks with a £15,000 fine. It allows Smith to participate immediately in transfer activity. He said 'I was given a very fair hearing on a convoluted case' "

It just goes to show that Rovers blew it out of all proportion and there is no case to answer as we knew all along. <cheers>
