Do any of you guys remember him. I remember him tearing Swansea apart whilst playing for Reading. Then as a 15 year old I was signing for Cardiff and was in with Jmmy Andrews when he turned up late for a game half pissed but still played well, If I remember correctly (it is a long time ago). I think It was aganst Orient. Then some 12 years later he was brought into Fulham police station and i couldnt believe the mess on him. He was a major drug addict and his legs were covered in ulcers. I am reading a book about his career and his life.

I see they are making a film about him this year. Just wondering if any of you watched him and how good was he.

Ah ... Robin! Where to begin .......
Probably the most naturally gifted player I have ever seen. I can remember following City to Brighton on a New Year's Day in the year dot. After being made to look like a donkey early on, by the 15th minute their centre half had already played through Friday twice in the centre circle as we played out. When it happened the third time, Robin stood up, turned round and just about knocked him out with a single punch. He didn't really wait around for the card, just walked nonchalantly off. Class! We lost 4- 1 I think, still a good day out.
A former City player, Jimmy McInch, told me that when Friday turned up to sign for City he'd travelled down from Reading on a platform ticket (yes, you could get away with that in those days). Jimmy Andrews had to go to Cardiff Central, pay his fare, and get him off the Transport Police.

"Friday signed on Thursday scores twice on his debut on Saturday"

That actually was stated on the radio after his debut.

Only played a handful of games for City but what an impact. Saw him sent off at Hereford in my first ever City away game, and recall a late equaliser at home v Wolves.

The iconic moment was of curse the 2 finger salute to Alexcis after bending one past him v Luton.

Friday could be unplayable and dire in the same game, very moody, as Nin said only played a couple of handful of games for Cardiff.

The story I remember is of him is him ****ting in Mark Lawrenson's kit bag.

Not sure if it's true but he was that type of person.
