This lacks a bit of detail, like where is it being played for instance?

And why, do we win a trophy? A big important one to rival the Emirates cup?

    Oh, and it's attendance. <ok>

Any one considered the implications of the sell out? A couple of years ago, you might have sold 70 - 80% of the tickets. But now the USA, following on after the World Cup are accepting the beautiful game, or as they prefer, soccer, and more and more Americans are getting interested.

The next move will be the USA marketing men getting involved. And when they do, it will start to attract bigger name players, and not just he ones in the twilight of their career. Will we then see an exodus of top players from the prem, the bundersleague, serie A, and La liga?

I hope I am wrong, but we could be seeing a major influence here which will effect all the teams in Europe

If we win, we face the winner of the other group.

Who is in the other group ?

I hope Donny Rovers are in it. I'd love to play Rovers in the final of the US of A Radical Awesome Cup.

Not yet! As of now each team has 3 "Designated Player" spots on their roster. What that means is only about $370,000 of their salary effects the salary cap. These are the slots that the bigger named European players would fill. Currently the most recognizable names in the league at these spots are Robbie Keane, Landon Donavon, Clint Dempsey, Tim Cahill, and Thierry Henry. Next year with the addition of Orlando FC and NYCFC into the league David Villa, Frank Lampard, Kaka, and Robinho will also be playing in the MLS. None of then are "elite" players anymore. They can still cut it over in Europe but maybe not at as first choice players in clubs competing for trophies, but they're still good players. I doubt you'll ever see top tier talent leave for the States while they're still at the peak of their powers. Another factor is international play, players playing for countries with a lot of competition will be less likely to leave for the MLS and ruin their chances of going to the Euro's, World Cup. Players like Tim Cahill and Robbie Keane don't have to worry about getting snubbed from Internatial call ups. Signing a player like Nani or Ashley Young would be a major coup for the MLS, talented, skillful players under the age of 30, but I can't see signings like that happening in the near future.

Bloody hell Manobear!!! Persuade them Nani would be a great idea, and include Anderson too. Both have had plenty of chances, but neither have fulfilled their potential

I had the idea of trading one of Young or Nani to the Galaxy in exchange for Omar Gonzalez and cash, but the Galaxy traded away our replacement for Omar Gonzalez. So much for that idea.

It gets more popular every year here, but the most important part is the MLS needs to become more popular. Having 109,000 people at any sporting event is remarkable, but it's not surprising when it's a game between the two largest sporting franchises on the planet. Soccer is on a high because of the World Cup, but we need to retain some of the people who only got into soccer during the world cups. Most people only care about soccer every 4 years. This World Cup I think made some serious progress though. I dragged 2 friends who only watched the World Cup to their first Galaxy a few weeks ago and they both loved it. (Helped that the Galaxy won 5-1 though). If people started make that sort of effort to go to support the leagues stateside instead of become what are known as "Eurosnobs" we'll see some actual progress.

In America do people just refuse to watch it because they don't want to like it and scared they might actually enjoy it
