where will Gills finish this coming season?
Lots of changes especially centre halfs and midfield.
On paper we look better than last season with Loft, Egan and the midfield looking faster.
With a promising start in pre season we have struggled in our final friendlies losing to Ipswich at home and Dover and Ebbsfleet away and not scoring a goal in all 3 games. Cody looks awful upfront with German looking the best striker to start the first game.
Again the start of the season is really important and if we don't get at least 3 points from are first 3 games i feel we will struggle again.
so where do i think we will end up????
What position would most people expect as we have spent hardly no money?
Well i would hope to be challenging for the play offs but probably mid table would be the best i can forecast so my final position is
    12th

I think we might surprise a few people including ourselves a good 10th place finish with a good FA cup run with a home tie against Tottenham

Well 442 predicted we will come 21st so clearly they think we are going to struggle but going down is a bit of a push! A lot of these lads haven't played at this level before so it might take them time to adjust. I'd say this year we get the boys settled in and consolidate before a genuine promotion push next year so this year....

Overall I see better players than the last few years, any 11 from 22 without losing quality gives us the strength in depth not to worry about injury or suspension. My current concerns are whether the youthful team will cope with the pressure of league 1, also getting what are clearly a talented bunch of boys playing as a team.

    Between 10th and 14th.

Going for a positive 10th with a flirt with the play off positions in March before falling away!

We'll finish 12th-14th. Bit worried about the start to the season - could take the players a while to gel, and apparently Cody is off-form.

Last season we came 17th with 53 points. We only took 3 points out of a possible 24 in the first eight games, eventually leading to the departure of mad dog. Just to take an additional 7 points in those first eight games, on the back of a similar season, we could be looking at 60 points and around about 10th place. But that's just average so let us make it interesting and a roller coaster 7th place, one just outside of the playoffs. Although where we are going to get all those additional points from i haven't worked out.

Although i think all the posts above are nearer the mark.

I fear a season of struggle. On paper the new signings look good, but I don't have much faith in the management team to get the best out of them. I thought our pre-season was abysmal with no sign of the passing football Taylor envisaged, and not much in the way of goal scoring threat. Sorry everyone, thats how I think it will pan out,and I sincerely hope I'm badly wrong. 20th for me, and I hope come next May I'm not saying "I told you so".
By the way,I've had a bet on us on the handicap list to go up with a 28 point start.

Blimey Hoadie. that took a lot of work on your part. 64 points would be good at the end of the season.
