Maybe. It wouldn't be the Saints forum without ridiculous overreactions to trifling issues. They're all still reading the forum, in any case. Bunch of hysterical children.

 

A 48 hour ban? Not enough if you ask me.

 

Sad. But it has been pretty barren on here; let's be fair, they all contributed heavily to the site. I had different opinions with them sometimes.. doesn't mean I'll report them for it, on a forum meant for discussion about football... But hey ho, everyone agrees now

 

Can we keep the name-calling to the minimum please. Something close to none would be the best choice

Whatever your view of whether they were banned rightly or wrongly (wrongly to my mind) there is no denying that these guys and others that have chosen to support them are core to this forum and it's a poorer place without them. I also don't agree that they are biting off their nose to spite their face by not coming back when their ban expires. If you feel you have been wronged in any situation then it never feels right just wandering back to the status quo as if nothing has happened, which is really their only option other than staying away, as if they come back and start arguing the toss then I expect they will be banned again. So if you are going to stand by your principals then you will stay away, probably what I would do in the situation. My only other gripe is that from looking around other boards on this site I have no doubt that their "offences" would hardly gain a 2nd look on most boards, and they've almost become a victim of how civil the Saints board is. Just my 2 pence worth on the situation, and I won't keep on about it. I do hope they all return as this forum seems almost redundant without them, although I'll understand if they don't.

So people who are popular can get away with being rude, whereas someone who is boring can't?

 

But if a person started offending others they wouldn't be boring. They would be a dick and depending on how they pissed off people could be funny as well.

 

I'm just looking at what's been lost (a lot) against what's been gained (proving some odd point that nobody quite understands).

Not just Joe and Dan have gone tho have they. I have noticed FLT hasn't posted since the banning as well. So we have probably lost about 6+ reg members.

 

This place has changed, man.

And not for the better.

 

On a scale of 1 to "things that are quite clearly proven not to have been the correct course" this is quite high up there. The great shame being that this forum was really working extremely well and was highly enjoyable up until this.

You'll note that the like of FLT and other posters more widely seen as "sensible" haven't posted either.

The point being it seems that Joe/Dan were leapt upon as soon as there was a chance to get rid, for supposedly ganging up on people who then complained (?) But the fact they were far more ganged up by a somewhat overly officious piece of moderating (that has backfired horribly) seems to have passed people by.


It's just spectacularly silly and nose/face biting from both sides.
