I've seen the lists, and know how many titles the clubs has won, but i have never seen them done as a proper table. Someone has posted this on rtg, and it just sums up how massive a club SAFC has been throughout history. Although the glory years seem to have gone by, and the chances of every winning the top title again are as slim as getting eaten by a great white on top of everest, this still sums up SAFC's part in the history of the top tier of football. More title wins than Man City, Chelsea, Spurs, Dorty Leeds and the nag molesters from Byker grove. Damn what we would give to have a sniff at another one. please log in to view this image
Our history is as good as anyone's but I'd love to see a 21st century piece of silverware on our list soon. We deserve a little slice of the pie just once don't we?
Yeah its always a bitter sweet table to see, proud that the club has been at the top but knowing that those days will never happen again. 1 of the things that always hits me is that Spurs have only won the league twice. Based on fans and media you would of thought it was more than that!
And even worse West Ham not even on the list!!! Based on their 'we won the world cup' fans you would expect at least 1 title!!!
I'd expect us to move down the table a couple of places in the next few years with Man City and Chelsea close behind us, but 6 league titles truly makes us one of the biggest clubs ever in the history of English football.
Sadly it's closing in on 80 years since we won one. I doubt there is anyone left alive who remembers it.
