No it's not neither will it be trend setting for us, if for no other reason than that we have not had the opportunity to play all of our new signings in any planned way. Therefore our first 11 is not yet established and therefore cannot trend!

Why is the baby wearing a San Fransisco 49ers shirt and has black American football marks under his eyes. What's happened to the LFC baby, has he been kidnapped and a doppleganger put in his place. We need answers!

It'll be interesting to see how we deal with them pressing us high up the pitch. We don't usually deal too well with that so we'll see if having players like Lovren & Moreno at the back who are possibly more comfortable on the ball will help us.

Looking forward to see Markovic though as he looked very intelligent against City, especially for a 20 year old. Think he deserves to start ahead of Coutinho as he hasn't started the season that well anyway.

Plus its only three games, with 2 of the possible 5 toughest away fixtures in the league.

MITO, you're making my point for me. Until we have some degree of consistency in our team selections then it's pointless trying to trend performances.

As for the games and results at present, all we can do is try and learn what was good and what didn't work. If we do lose today its nowhere near the end of our season and if we win we'll not truly be any more 'title contenders' than we are this morning. If you gotan honest comment from either manager it would probably be along the lines of " 1 point is OK and I now have more information upon which to base my decisions on who and how we play in future games" - but they are never going to say that publicly!

Still getting over the fact that we now have a bench, that you know, actually functions as a bench rather than a place to fill up with whoever was wandering around Melwood in the morning.

in my view the consistent thing is an inability to press up the park and play a high line AND work hard for 90 mins. this is worrying.

IF we play for 30mins today and fade its a serious thing.

I'd take a draw here if offered and hope we beat villa after the break for 7/12 points which is min required to get to 70 points and then hope for improvement

Looking at this lineup I think it's probably the most 'Rodgers-only' team he has ever played. 8 of the first XI are his signings and 4/6 of the subs too.

Interesting to see how the back 4 look today.

Lallana still to come in to!

Allen has been our best player so far. If your sweating over him you should sweat over them all. He deserves his place.

Probably the best team we can play right now, just a question about Balotelli starting straight away. Only Markovic could really come in though since Coutinho has been average. We'll see how he links up with the others.

This is likely to be the defence next season, so again, lets see how that works out.

Quite excited about today and the bench, for the first time in ages, actually looks like it could change the result on the pitch if it needs to!

I think Allens a good choice, its a tighter defensive option and Ford is not on form.

No shortage of goal threat up front

Little bit of the warm up there, looks like Balo, Studge and Sterling all getting along well together. Important to make that bond between the three of them.
