Same here we're suckers when someone flashes a bit money in our faces, McNally has done some good deals but I still think we could of got a hell of lot more for Fer. Hooper will go for a measy 6 million too.

Sorry to say that I am not really bothered if Redmond goes. We can all make excuses for him being young and still learning the game etc (having been playing for over 10 years) but his end product is nowhere near reliable, or even consistent. Good cross yesterday for the goal but once in a blue moon is not good enough.

Same here, I hope it's one of Unknown's side accounts.

I'm hoping McNally fires off a warning shot tomorrow, shut up the shop, put 15-20 million price tags on players. Southampton, QPR, Stoke etc must have other players lined up too.

Redmond has experience in this league, the Murphy's are too on the light side and not the finished article, without Pilkington I can't see any alternative replacements.

We need to keep the squad together we've lost some key players and we don't need to be drafting in replacements at this time, we haven't got the luxury of pre-season to gel the team together and experiment.

There is something dodgy going on between Arsenal and Saints another £27m bid for one of their players, they offer a third of that for Redmond ?

I would say Redmond falls in to the same boat, and while more experienced than the Murphy's, I still think Josh could step in to his boots more than adequately well given the opportunity. His run-outs in the League Cup point towards him being more capable of offering more the NR. IMO

This smacks of dual standards, to a degree. When Hull offered silly money for Snodders, everyone applauded McNally's business acumen in letting him go. But now someone's offering (equally unwarranted) big money for Redmond, it's all shock horror probe time <yikes>

And don't forget Redmond came here predominantly because of Hughton, and may well have no other real allegiance to NCFC.

Murphy has had some good cameo's recently but he still get's swatted away like fly, his not powerful enough he needs to bulk up a bit, I'm quite happy to see him come on as a sub and start cup games but not as a starter in league games.

Snodgrass was not a good fit for our club we looked disjointed with him on the right constantly cutting in on his left foot , he couldn't deliver a corner and he seemed to only pass to people he liked .
The guy thought he was better than he was in my opinion and £7m for an average Scotland international was good business, England U21 players with pace and great form for their country go for silly money as Saints keep proving.
If we sell to Saints they will sell him for £25m next year .

i don't personally think £9m for redmond is 'silly money' when you consider were he to be a saints player, aged 20, i reckon they'd be asking double that merely for his potential.

i really don't see anyone else going now unless there is a major development in terms of either an unhappy player because an offer wasn't accepted or because the money becomes unbelievable. we need to try and keep what we've got and work hard with those players.

I've noticed a lot of those definite rumours where people are having medicals and agreeing terms etc are formulated from local newspapers, who originally get the information from twitter! Now I'd understand if that was from the tabloids but this is Sky and the BBC buying into local newspaper stories without investigating the original source.

surely it is time to move the transfer window so that it closes a week before the season begins? never understood the logic of it ending a month into a season! mind you, logic is never high up the list of priorities when it comes to fifa/uefa/fa etc

The sooner the window shuts the better. I wouldn't expect Redmond or Hooper to go for any less than 10 million, but annoyingly if they do go tomorrow then it doesn't give us time to find suitable replacements.

In regards to what you said Supers. I also really think Redmond needs a another full season in the Championship. He can beat players at ease but needs to sort his decision making out, I don't think he is quite Premier League quality in regards of his end product yet.

Difference between Redmond with Fer and Snodgrass is the age. Redmond, under the right circumstances, could be a future England winger and could go pretty far in the game. If that happens 9 million will be a bargain for Saints.

as we keep getting told, the club 'don't need to sell' anybody. so unless it is an offer which simply cannot be refused, we shouldn't expect movement

    totally agree with that <ok>

redmond, as far as i'm concerned is our most valuable asset, even if he infuriates us most of the time!

With the exception of having Olsson as back up he hasn't really played in a settled team, I think he is beginning to understand Hoolahan lot more better then before, take the Ipswich game for an example they both linked up very well. We've also lacked a quick thinking midfielder with good vision since Fox's departure a player with that passing range would develop Redmond's game by complimenting his pace and movement, I'm really hoping Vadis has a good eye for a pass.
