We're going to need some cover whilst Ryan Bennett's out, and I'd rather it was an experienced defender on loan, than stumping up £1.5m for a inadequate youngster who will get just as little playing time, but end up stuck on our books for 2 or 3 years because nobody else wants him! Also no guarantee we'll be paying his whole wages, although if rumoured interest from Burnley is true, we may have had to out-muscle them in terms of the deal we offered Southampton.
Surely that has to mean we've got shot of Bassong. Can't believe we could afford to have him on our books too? Turner, Martin, Bennett, Cuellar, Hoiveld, Miquel and Bassong is way too many CBs.
I still see Martin as a RB who can also play CB. At the moment, Ryan Bennett is our only left-footed CB. Hooiveld and Miquel are both left-footed, and Miquel can also play at LB, so it makes sense from that point of view.
How can you be so certain about the future of a U21 Spain international who came through 2 of the Worlds best academies DH?, if the guy was 30 odd years old then i can understand but I doubt you know anything about the young Arsenal lad and if we sign him I hope he turns into the next Ramos .
Untried by us, RVW was the dogs nuts remember until he put on a yellow shirt, I "hope" he will do the business for us but the Belgium league is not very strong.
Last season he made 7 appearances for Leicester. I dare say our other CB's are of greater quality than there's were when they went up, so if he can't break into their side, what chance has he with ours? Without game time I doubt he's progressing significantly. I'm more than happy to be proved wrong, but I don't see him getting a lot of playing time, and £1.5m + 2-3 years of wages seems excessive for back-up. A season long loan makes much more sense to me. Garrido was also an U21 Spain international, doesn't mean he's going to be the next Ramos. If Miquel can get to the level of Garrido within a reasonable time frame, then it's not too bad a deal I guess.
He was fighting for his place in defense with Richy De Laet last season which is fairly ironic and De Laet is a Premier league defender now so rated higher than our defenders . The Garrido comparison is flawed also as we bought him as a 27 year old , Miquel is still 21 so has time to improve maybe 10 years plus left of his career .
Good evening NCFC. If you get Jos , I will be sorry to see him go . You will have a good player and a really top bloke .Good luck this season
Leicester actually have a very strong CB pairing, DH, which is why Miquel only got 7 games. 21 is young for a CB and he will progress with experience, like RB has. I suspect Hooiveld will be the primary cover for now. I like the fact that City are building for the future rather than just worrying about the here and now.
I don't think we had room in our Premier league squad for Ayala he's playing for Middlesborough now so hardly a failure.
And from what I have seen, he has developed with experience. Injuries were his main problem when he was with us.

News from Arsenal - but it's not Danny Welbeck. Defender Ignasi Miquel has left Arsenal to join Norwich for an undisclosed fee. The 21-year-old has agreed a three-year deal at Carrow Road.
Have we signed Hooiveld on loan? Would be pleased with that. Has nous at this level. Less said about Miquel the better - you know my thoughts on him . Let's hope he improves dramatically given a bit of guidance
