The only reason I can think for Pardew and Co, not wanting to bring in a replacement for MYM is that they have seen enough in Satka and Streete to warrant some faith in them as reliable back up. If it has worked for Aarons, who I see as a direct replacement for HBA, then it can work at the back too...hopefully. Hope the same can be said up front for Armstrong as well... kids are the future, let them lead the way!!

Our gambles are always of the money saving type.

We never gamble by paying the extra million to add to our squad. It's always replace, replace, replace.

Just for once if we could ****ing strengthen the squad by actually adding to the group.

The OP seems to think that there was a full stop after last season. That's ridiculous - we have been beyond gash for 2014, and continue to be so. There is no goalscorer in the squad YET AGAIN, and a defence that has been utter garbage for two years isn't strengthened. It's suicide, it's literally gambling with the club.

We've been in the league for five seasons now, our centre backs are exactly the same as the day we got promoted. Can somebody please explain how that has been allowed to happen...

Pardew thinks he's got a stronger side but he's out of excuses once we lose at Southampton it's going to get poisonous but he'll not be sacked even if we go down.

Hello all.......I'm new to all this t'internet stuff but felt I needed to back up Bob.

If you turned the transfer window on its head and we had signed 9 players in the last 2 weeks every one would be jumping for joy and shouting about a good season.........(and they were doing just that back in early August), but a lot of so called fans are only happy when they can put a negative spin on every little detail that involves NUFC. As fans we need to get behind the lads and make sure that they have a positive reception and atmosphere at SJP which will allow the new players to gain confidence and produce rather than be scared back into their shells.

 

Welcome on board mate. I hear what you are saying but if things were reversed I wouldn't be jumping for joy as we would still be weaker in attack as well as defence no matter when the signings happened. My big worry is replacing Remy's goals. It just aint gonna happen.
To have only 3 CB's going into a PL season is criminal to say the least and I dare say we are probably the only club in the PL with that problem.

 

Hello Albert, I can't disagree with your argument about the CB's as we are really on a wing and a prayer if we get any injuries to Collo or Willo. Most people were pretty happy with the signings when they were made yet after 3 games they are being tagged as no good enough!......now if that is not fickle what is?. My main point is that we have to make SJP a good place for the players to be as I believe a lot of the problems we had at home last year was the negative atmosphere the players had to perform in. Now before anyone calls me a Pardew sycophant( which I am not), the fans need to support the team before and during the game and save the negative stuff for the final whistle
