I don't like the concept of "World Class" but for the purpose of clarity I have made a list of players and managers for a few teams. This is not who I think is #worldclass (a few of them are overrated IMO) but who I think in popular opinion is #worldclass. Let me know any changes Man Utd (7): Van Gaal, Falcao, Rooney, Van Persie, Di Maria, Mata, De Gea Chelsea (6): Mourinho, Diego Costa, Fabregas, Hazard, Courtois, Cech Man City (5): Aguero, Yaya Youre, Silva, Kompany, Zabaleta Arsenal (1): Ozil Tottenham (1): Lloris Everton (0): Liverpool (0): #worldclass edit: Sanchez and Ivanovic removed, Courtois and Cech added
In popular opinion Gerrard is world class. Robbie Savage says it all the time. Joe Allen is also world class. I dont think people typically see Ivanovic as world class. Though he is solid. Same about Sanchez. Where are Courtouis and Cech?
I think Gerrard was #worldclass but isn't considered that right now? I think Ivanovic is a top, top player but will take him off if he's not generally considered #worldclass (yet another example of that label being retarded IMO) Courtois and Cech were on my list but then I thought Cech isn't first choice and Courtois is young so had doubts but will put them back
Man Utd van Gaal-no Falcao- yes! this guy is brilliant! Rooney-no van Persie no. was about 2-3 years ago. last season at Arsenal 1st at utd. di Maria-right up there with the best midfielders but not quite in the top 6 midfielders Mata-no De Gea-I think this guy is the real deal. could be the best in the world in a few years. Chelsea Mourinho-yes (the smug ****) Costa-no. not as good as Falcao Fabrigas-no if he was world class Barsa wouldn't have sold him. Hazzard-no but could be in a few years Courtois-no. not yet but could be Cech-no. was once there but has dipped. Man City Aguero-yes Yaya Toure-yes. does have the odd off game(not often tho) but is brilliant most games and Devastating in others Silva-no Kompany-no Zabaletta-certainly great, world class? Maybe Arsenal Ozil-no. I thought he'd be brilliant for Arsenal but has failed to shine. better for Germany. Lloris-no but up among the top ranks its just my opinion. I'm sure you'll tell me if I'm wrong
I've always liked balotelli. I don't think he is world class. Though he could be if he could be bothered to out the effort in.
There are very few managers who are part of the elite in World Football. For players, I use a 3 tier system. Top is your best in the position (elite). Second is very good/"world class" Third is "good" e.g. for strikers Elite - Falcao, Ibra, Suarez, Aguero etc (very few fit this category) Second tier - Sturridge, Jovetic, Costa, Rooney (could get into most teams) Third tier - Remy, Bony etc. "World class" is subjective, but I reckon there are lots of "World class" players, but very few "elite" players. And to whoever said Hazard isn't World Class.. seriously!?
Hate the term world class its a load of crap. You get players who look world class in certain leagues and then cannot perform in a different league. For me world class is performing at a top level and shinig where ever you play. Ronaldo, Messi, Suarez are clearly world class. Falcao has not been top level with consistancy for a long enough period for me. Yaya, Kompany, Zabaleta world class Costa seems to be heading there. I would say Ivanovic is world class. Cech, Courtois world class From our lot, Sterling has the potential to be world class due to his talent, influence and consistancy. And now ill be really contraversial and suggest henderson also has the qualities to prove himself a world class player. Gerrard and Terry were world class
