Hmmm. SDJ random leg injury, Colback doubtful, Tiote's "little injury" now moving into its' third month......methinks the cancer of last season has spread.

Sissoko, last seen in the Premier League about 10 months ago, is running the show for France against Spain. Difficult to see how he's being made the most of by St. Alan.

Thing is he's got a lot of positives, and a few negatives, I'm just not sure we're getting the most out of the guy. Seems to me that Pardew has come to the conclusion he's going to "copy" a fair few managers and play 4-2-3-1, whether we've got the right players or not. It's a key part of what makes me hate the manager, the fact he has no vision of his own. Sissoko's probably best in a 3 or 5 man midfield, but not as the DM nor as the wide man. I think we should go and take a look at ol' Venables 4-3-2-1 formation. Back four, then Tiote holding behind Jack 'n' Moose, with Cabs and Aarons supporting one of our sh1t strikers, take your pick.

Pardew has been playing him centrally now though. There should be no excuses this season. We have to remember though the international game, and particularly friendlies, is very very different from the PL. No place is it more demanding than central midfield.

Sissoko when played central is a box to box midfield. He is not really a creator like Cabaye, picking passes. He is not a breaker of play like a Tiote. He is a big strong get up and down. Its about balance. I'd prefer to sit a Cabaye type alongside the breaker. We've now gone away from that as we didn't replace him. We now have not one single player who can put their foot on the ball and dictate the game. As such we are now trying to play Sissoko central. I thought we had it perfect when we had Cabaye/Tiote/Sissoko but Sissoko struggled. I do believe now is the right time to try again centrally but he will have to graft. There are no free rides in central midfield in the PL. He was like lost little lamb last time in there.

More than anything I think our midfield has talent but it is tricky to actual balance with the personnel we have. I still think Grenier was the right guy.

We might as well play 9 defenders with Aarons up front to hit them on the break. You never know.

Such is the complete apathy and lack of interest in the club under P45dew it seems that very few of us can be bothered to even talk about the game against Southampton.
On that note.... we will get stuffed by 3 goals to zero.

    I hate you Pardew!!!!

Sods law is you'll sneak a 1-0 and Pardew will get a few more games to get things right

    I agree.

Having Pardew as manager is kind of like having a 6'4, 210lbs cellmate who keeps shafting you and the prison officers won't do a thing to help.

4-1 to Saints, Newcastle to finish on ten men.

Newcastle to score a flukey goal late in the first half, a deflection from a shot by Anita or sissoko from outside the box

Then Saints to immediately grab one back, and Newcastle to then, totally demoralised, fall apart.

Three more to Southampton with Newcastle looking shambolic. One of our defenders to pick up an injury and someone like Cabella to pick up a couple of yellows. Pardew will throw on Aarons with 20 mins to go, he'll look good but have no support and just be running out to the corner with no-one to cross balls to.

At the end of the day, Pardew will say something about being unlucky and being in control until conceding.

Newcastle to be sat in the relegation spots. Media will be talking about Pardew facing the sack but Ashley won't fire him.

I've already committed to a 3-1 win but this does sound very likely.
