Big respect to Southampton. Losing all those players and looking like they've not skipped a beat. This is a great test for us now.

Not too bothered about the result, more bothered that we paid £8m quid for a defender that looks worse than Bartley and Amat who were a fraction of the price.

He came on and we conceeded 3 goals. In fairness to Chelsea they were miles better and so they should be, monk also needed to make a call RE Amat getting another booking so i understand the sub too.

Fredirico will need to learn very fast but from what limited time i saw him in our shirt he looked totally lost with woeful positioning sense .

I thought the Swans went pair shaped in the middle 3rd of that game, good start, good finish but poor in the middle part of the game, credit to Chelsea and Costa but IMO we made the goals easy for them.

Very happy with the start to the season though and Monk and the players deserve credit.

It was most encouraging to see us grab a goal at the end, even though some players had given up after 75 mins .
As mentioned above, 2 hard games out the way and we look forward to the next match, id certainly start once again with Amat though, Fernandez looks like he may need a bit more adjustment to prem football.

I agree 100% Dragon, Gomis needed to take at least one of those chances for us to keep the pressure off, if he scores to take it back to 2-2 we then have Montero and Bony to throw on.

Shelvey was a mixed bag again but in fairness to him he tried and kept movement off the ball, others just seemed to give up, he took his goal well and 4-2 sounds alot better than 4-1 .

Quite happy overall but our defending was pretty woeful, highlighted by some world class attacking play by chelsea.

You have to mark goal poachers like Diego Costa very tight indeed, but we were asleep at the back when he had the ball, and that is criminal..............<ok>

Bony remains our only effective defender of corners!

Very true indeed Bob. First time in ages he aint been there at corners and all of a sudden we are iffy again, plenty of truth in that.

I still can't understand why Ki was given the job of marking Costa. Surely Ash should have been marking him.
Agree Bob, we missed Bony in our box.

You looked really good in the first half and could easily have gone a couple of goals up. Really good passing side too. I reckon top six is well doable for you guys.

Very impressed with Gomis , lots of raw talent there and should be fine tuned after a bit more time.Somtimes his first touch is a bitto strong

Taylor was at fault big time for their 3rd I think....stood still, let Costa walk past him, and once the ball was in the net he took a 'ready to pounce pose'....just looked ridiculous. Anyhow, Chelsea very good. We have to take our chances when we get them and more importantly not let our heads drop when things get tough.

Look at this way chaps the team we lost to today I feel are going to be picking up the prem trophy at the end of this season and have in fabregas and costa 2 world class players in their chosen position. Take stock and move on wasnt at the game but mate of mine is a chelsea fan who was and he said himself first half was all us, then they stopped giving the ball away and took a grip on the game.

This is the type of game we will miss Choco in imo , he would bruise a few in our end

Totally agree. We surely needed his red card in there somewhere...

You can point fingers all day but there's not a lot you can do when a world class team with world class players goes up a gear or two. Yes, you can get results that raise eyebrows but let's face it, man for man they have the better team and it showed. Saying Fernandez came on and we conceded three goals is factually true but a little unfair and doesn't take into account the fact that Chelsea upped their game considerably during that period.

Bit of a mixed bag for me - no shame in the result and we played brilliantly at times but they improved later in the game and were too much for us. They pressed and pressed, giving us no time on the ball - just like most teams with a manager who has some nous will do.

I was disappointed though that we made it easy for them by giving the ball away so much. You don't have to be that great if the other team keep giving you the ball do you?

But Chelsea look like title contenders to me.

At times , when passing , I thought Shelvey was playing for Chelsea ....a horrendous game from Shelvey , barring his goal.

Chico brought his foot high , without contact , and got a red card . Chico got two guestionable yellows for a red card . Chico got a red card after one of our players and Vorm got mixed up and Chico brought the opposition player down outside the box late in a game to try to save a sure goal . The ref , mistakenly , called it a penalty. Chico took a lot of unjustified flak over red cards , and still does apparently.
