The boo-ers showing support for the Allams tonight during the CTID chant are surely deluding themselves. The owners have already shown their hand by saying if we don't get the name change we are selling up thus leaving the silent majority adrift without a paddle.

I enjoy the sport and love watching my local team in the highest and best league in the world ..

what I don't get is the people who "I guess" work and spend 24 hours obsessed over Hull City AFC ... when they go see the same players in their local town play the same game .. as great people have said ... "football is simple" .. and tbh a football club is simple ... you go to the church every weekend and enjoy yourself .. name = 0

I'd just like to say that my post is more my opinion and a statement rather that an argument. People seem to be looking for arguments on here. I just read a few threads and thought I'd let people know my opinion.

    Just to clarify....

    I love hull city AFC.

If we keep our name I'll be happy.

it's not 24 hours of work. i'm talking about people who are pleased to win and disappointed to lose, who are delighted with promotions and gutted with relegations. i'm talking about people who wish they'd seen wagstaff and chilton or carter and burbanks, or who maybe did, not people who think history is bunk and only the present matters. i'm talking about people who reminisce with their mates about games from 2 or 5 or 25 years ago, when we were good or bad or neither and something good or bad or neither happened, but it was worth remembering and talking about, not instantly forgettable because it was like an evening at the theatre or the library or mcdonalds. sadly it looks like i'm not talking about people like you, because you don't seem to understand. you're a customer, not a fan. you mention church. i don't believe in that stuff. football is my religion. no, hull city is my religion and the devil is creating a schism. but he will lose. and so will all those that have made a pact with him.

for the record, i'm not a member of ctwd. i do support their succesful fight against the name change. i do abhor the twisting of their words by the appeasers. i do think allam senior behaves like a spoilt child but i don't care whether the allams stay or go. if they want to stay, fine. if they want to go, fine. i want steve bruce to stay.

Do you think that just because people don't mind a name change they don't love what we've done/achieved in the past.

If we get called hull cod heads tomorrow people will still remember the past.

Yes, exactly that. Anyone who boos their own fans for chanting about the team's name is a massive c**t and will always be a ****. Hope I cleared that up for you. <ok>

i'm talking about INVOLVEMENT and EMOTION and HISTORY.

    what are you talking about?

what do i want? i want the name to stay the same.

why would anyone change a club's name when they've played in an fa cup final in front of one of the biggest annual crowds for any game? why throw that exposure away? why not exploit it? can there be better advertising?

    I wasn't there tonight.

But my feeling as a city fan is that it isn't against the name. It's against the protest against the name change. It's a different thing all together.

Like ctwd say, it's not a protest against the owner just the name change.

Tonight was against the protest not the name.

    Does that make sense?

there is no reason behind the name change. there has been no argument for doing it. if the owners had bothered with the club shop during the past few years, it could have made more than they claim the name change will bring in. finishing an extra place or two higher at the end of the season would bring in more money. why needlessly split the support over something so pointless? appeasement is not an argument for supporting the name change.

but nothing has changed! ctwd haven't done anything different for months, so why is there a protest against ctwd? all that happened is that allam said he was appealing and threatened to sell up if he didn't get his own way. ctwd put out a respectful statement but acknowledge that it is out of their hands and has been since april or whenever. they have no need to do anything different and they are not doing anything different. allam doesn't have to leave if the name change is prevented. he's playing divide and conquer and feeble-minded people are falling for it.

    Those that boo'd,

I'm guessing did so because they like how far we've come and are grateful for what mr Allam has done. Or

CTWD haven't done anything wrong but those who have sat back and been impartial are starting to voice their opinion and now they're the bad guys.

If ctwd supporters want to be respected then they need to understand that some people really don't mind!

Whether they think it's wrong or right that's how people feel.
