Sounds great. I feel we were very lucky to beat Brentford today who had us in the first half. The funny old game football is, we won 3 - 0 which sounds deceptively comfortable. I've always said Ruddy is far too good for the Championship and without him we would have been out the game at half-time. But winning when not playing great is the form of champions and we are amongst the early pace setters.

The expectancy levels are going to keep rising but IMO rightly so; we have arguably the best squad in the league so we should expect to be up there in the play-offs at the very least by the end of the season. Right now we haven't done any harm on that front!

If it wasn't for Ruddy we wouldn't have won that, and I must confess I never thought we would do this well at the start of the season. It's good to see we're scoring really good goals again, and credit to NA, I was a doubter but now I'm a believer lol.

Was an interesting game and another if two halves really. In the early play Brentford struggled to get on the ball as we passed it round them looking bright and lively but without creating any out and out chances. We did look pretty threatening though and Brentford seem to struggle to match us.
This changed somewhat as the half drew on perhaps due to a little bit of frustration norwich's passing and industry slipped and Brentford started pushing and ruddy started saving. I'll be honest that here getting caught up in a series of songs about former players I lost done concentration. It play was dropping a bit. Half time was pretty welcome.
After the half time break we looked far more up for it creating several chances and the movement looked far better. This didn't stop Brentford having a few goes and forcing ruddy to be very alert.
Then we broke, scored and effectively the game was over 22 minutes early. Brentford got ragged holes appeared and by the end we could have had 5.
I don't agree that we were lucky I think basically our skill shone through, from front to back we had superior players and they each showed it. Brentford tried to bully and harass us off the ball it worked for a while, then we moved up a gear.
I would however say that Brentford seemed like a good well drilled side, they won't go down, they probably won't make top 6 but they could be in the mix.

Listened to the commentary and it seems as though we 'were under the cosh' towards the end of the first half.

JR made some excellent saves and kept us in the game on several occasions.

However, at the end of the day; our superior fitness and squad depth, should give us the edge in most games.

Another point that needs making is that Alex Tettey was absolutely immense. He's far to good for the championship.

Just back from griffin park, I love Neil Adams.

Ruddy made some immense saves in the first half kept us in it.

Tettey was class, johnson looked a bit slack tonight and a bit leggy. With our squad would like to see a bit of rotation so we don't burn them all out.

Also wes and grabban's contributions may go a miss but they didn't stop working all game, made the formations that were used work for Adams.

I think Johno might drop out when we get Howson back. A midfield of Tettey, Vadis and Howson could easily hold it's own in the Prem, let alone win us this division.

Johnson was captain last night, can't see Neeyul dropping him personally which means we are going to have some top quality players champing at the bit to get in the first team, especially with how brilliant Tettey has been.

What a fantastic conundrum to have, this season is gonna be mega!!

    Precisely!!!

I'm loving the harmony on these boards and if it needed relegation for us all to get back behind the team, then I'm all for it!!!! <hug>

Loved us singing "We've got our Norwich back" last night, Wes really enjoyed it at the final whistle when he heard what we were singing, top banter!

How is everyone getting on with booing Wes when his name gets read out by the way? I must admit I thought there would have been more of us doing it last night, still can't believe what he did against Villa last year....

I still can't quite believe we've won 3 away matches in a row! (including 2 clean sheets). When did that last happen?

IMO, we're doing to other teams what the big boys did to us in the PL. Pace and skill become far more telling in the second half.

I was at the game with a mate that isn't a city or Brentford & I agree pretty much agree with Bath. I wouldn't describe us as lucky and Brentford were no better than I would expect from a newly promote team playing at home with good support. Ruddy had a good game making some good saves when necessary, however from memory I can only remember Ruddy making one save that was exceptional for a top championship keeper. Don't get me wrong I really rate Ruddy and I think his value to the team is greater than the saves he makes, but I wouldn't say that he was the difference between us winning and losing last night. Throughtout the whole game I never felt that we were going to lose the game and at half time despite the poor end to the half I was of the view that we would win the game. For what its worth my mate thought that we looked a classy team and said that if we'd played like we did last year then we'd probably still be in the premiership. He was also impressed with our support.

He hasn't looked quite as on it the last 2 games is the only reason I'd drop him. Tettey has been flying and absolutely dominates in the midfield battles. I think both of those will get a rest over the next few weeks as they have played every league game and put in huge shifts in all of them.

Just watched the highlights and the fans we're unbelievable. You would have been forgiven for thinking it was at Carrow road with the amount of noise they made as the goals went in!
