That's the point the singers of CTWD are getting behind the team as the OP rightly states. The boo boys on the other hand are not. Even though they say it s against the anti Namechange supporters, their booing could be construed as being against the players and affect play, something the singing of CTWD will never do.
If I say they were booing the Tories, or Scottish Independence or Islamic State can we close this thread?
As a novel concept, why don't those that boo (or want to boo) pick a song to sing that both supports the team yet voices oppostion to the CTWD song (when sung at 19:04)? I am guessing that it is easier for them to boo though! On another point but discussed elsewhere, let us imagine for one moment the name change goes ahead. Hull City Tigers are relegated from the PL... Will our new Asian market continue to flourish? Will our Supporters who joined us when we got promotion to the PL (and also given a vote in the ballot) re-new their passes and take the journey in the Championship with those that have been through the dark times? Will those that have been through the dark times continue to support the team under their new name? One constant in all of the sagas our club has encountered has been the fans. That fan base is now divided and if this whole name change thing (in either direction) continues irreparable damage will be caused to to our previous unity. Sad times I am sorry to say.
I wish I had said that. The protesters against the name change have a right to protest But in the same manner the protesters against the name change protesters have the same rights. I think they should all do their protesting outside the ground in a controlled manner and watch the games in peace. We have the best team we've ever had we should show our joint support for them.
I don't agree with booing at all, but I think it's in part also a reaction to comments I've seen on this thread. Just because I don't feel strongly enough about the name change issue to chant and get riled up every game and every day on the forum, doesn't make me a rubbish fan, and doesn't make me a plastic. I knew more people in the north stand last night who started going in the past 2 years than anywhere else on the ground, but I'm not gonna hurl general abuse at groups of people I don't agree with. You could easily make a counter argument such as 'those that remember the great escape from the 90's and when we were throwing cash in buckets outside of BP to save the club are just happy to have a club to support, and those that are bemoaning and protesting against these 'dark times' are recent fans who don't know the true threats that used to face the club.' Again I'm not saying I agree with that argument as well, but I could make it and claim people anti-name change are plastics and not proper fans, etc. It's the attitude that's the problem, if people disagree with you, so be it, if you want to protest the name change, then do it through legal means (as has been done as well to be fair), but don't protest during the match either and let's just support the team there. No one is a 'better' fan here, we all want what's best for the club so let's put the high-horsing to bed.
Well you lads get the perfect chance to compare soon enough. You get to see how these lot do their protesting. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spor...ews/newcastle-united-fans-group-plan-7781326? Relegation, bouncing back and achieving European football in the process. Both have owners who seem to belittle the history and identity of the club. The Differences? Well Ashley has got NUFC running in the black. NUFC have it so much better than Hull City, the ability to break even is so advantageous financially if something like a relegation occurs, the club is more secure. The main difference is the class of fans. The mags have it so much better yet lower themselves and damage their own club for their cause with ridiculous behavior which frankly, makes them a national laughing stock. Boo's aren't nice, we get pockets at the stadium of light and it boils my blood, but when I look at them I know the situation could be so much worse and just feel grateful we don't have their mentality. What I mean is maybe you lads should take a weekend off from your problems, kick back, and watch another set of fans show you how to deal with problems so much worse.
Did you boo under your breath. Or in your head I Never heard one boo from the North Stand We don't want no booing In our stand . Grrr
1 & 2 - The Club we fought for was Hull City AFC , the same fight - different circumstances (though we 'owe' even more money now) 3 - Singing a song is legal - I 'personally' see it as affirmation of the success of the FA decision (see 1 & 2) 4 - Singing a song in support of the club / team is supporting - by definition, booing is not Our best season/s ever Possibly our best team ever Our best manager ... Our most divisive owner ever
Arrrrgggghhhhh .....this is annoying me like crazy, if you want hull city afc, keep the tradition going and start your own club when wecare hull tigers, you can even where black & amber if you wish, but dont dare call yourself the tigers, you hate it so much! .....we would be grateful if you left the team that play in the KC stadium alone, if it was for some of you, we'd still be in boothferry park, every team has supporters who cant move on! ....
Why would we do that? We have perfectly good club called Hull City who are at there highest point history. What we need is our owner to stop being childish and pigheaded and start marketing club properly. If people can't see that then they're either stupid or need to take there head the Dr's arse.
Only an ex pat would make that mistake since the KC did not open until 2002, but we have sung it as long as I can remember in the BP days
