Bloody hell Radio 5 were quick off the mark...just had a quick interview with Brendon:

“We were unlucky tonight. I thought the team were magnificent, I really couldn’t have asked for much more. I think Mario just needs time to settle, but his effort and work rate were outstanding, no one can question him on that. Some of the new players are taking time to adjust, but this is a special club and we have come a long way over the past 18 months.”

It is just unbelievable. This team is really really crap.

Proof that Suarez = Liverpool last season. Without him, ALL the players are simply rubbish. <doh>

Despite Basel being a difficult place to get a result ( ESP for british sides) and a totally inept referee , our inability to defend set pieces, as well as our ability to conceed the softest goals imaginable, this has been an incredibly poor effort.
Courthino looks like he's sulking, markovic...don't know what to say. Too much reliance on sterling who had a poor night. Enrique all over the place and gerrard so indisciplined.
Might want to send a note to BR..when defending set pieces get the defenders to attack the ball instead of trying to push and pull opponents.
Not going to mention Balottelli, who looks like he's trying of sorts, but where has his pace and strength gone? And can't hit a cows arse with a banjo.

I would be greatly impressed if we can score more than 1 goal and manage a win against West Brom.

That was dire. We are awful. Not just this game. So many players are under-performing, it's embarrassing.

We haven't done a spurs. We've done a lot worse.

But that's not really true is it. Sure he was massive for us, as he would be for any team but we played well without him too and he had crap games too but others stepped up.
There's something Definately wrong, we have lost the pace, pressing and incisiveness of last year. As for our shooting..wtf is that all about.

Shame....you took one step forward last season....then signed all those Saints stars (who finished a lofty 8th).....unfortunately for you guys, Rodgers has now taken you five steps back.

  13. Bit harsh. Sterling was very poor tonight but he's been brilliant for eighteen months and everyone as a off game.

Mario was a ****ing disgrace and not for the first time in a Liverpool shirt IMO. I've said I'll give him a chance but the distinct lack of effort is making it very bloody hold to hold back. ****ing hate (a word I rarely use) players that don't put the effort in; hence my signature quotes!!!

What was Sterling doing? He could and should have bagged a hatrick.

    Pathetic performance all round.

I'm confident we'll beat Basel at home with a fully fit squad, and still very confident we'll get 2nd in our group.

But that was absolutely pathetic, not one player deserved to be wearing that jersey tonight.

It's the yellow kit... I knew we were going to be bad when I saw Warrior had a yellow kit planned for us. Last few times we've had yellow kits we've done badly.

It's the return of the yellow kit curse!

It was like watching us under Brenda in his last 6 months. Clueless when teams worked him out.
Sousa hasnt changed since his days with us either. Posession/defensive based bore fest with holding out for a goal and then sit back.

I really thought Brenda had taken you on a level. Infact it seems SAS from last year took him on a different level though.

    Chin up :)

Suarez seemed to have acted like a catalyst for the team. Without him, there is no (chemical) reaction. This team is so dreadful it is unbelievable. It is not even top ten at the moment. Gerrard, balotelli, sterling, Henderson all had massive stinkers. I think the worse culprit was Rodgers. He should changed the midfield which was overwhelmed.
