So, do you think Fergie has passed his refs over to Van Gaal You would fit in well on the Pool board, they love a good conspiracy theory
All the while ignoring all the decisions we had go against us in the league this season, but I suppose its different when its United. What about all the shirt pulling in the box from Arsenal and all the other teams oh yeah lets not mention that because its not Man United
If memory serves me correctly, United have had some pretty dodgy penalties awarded against them at Stamford Bridge. But the rent boys never mention those
With 5 mins to go I started thinking Dowd would give Utd a penalty. Didn't see the red card coming, but after not giving us a Pen for the rugby tackle even Dowd would have been foolish to give Utd one. Apart from that "small" mistake, seems to me he was lousy for both teams, but just a tad lousier for us. Not quite up to the standard of Fergie refs, but learning fast.
I didn't think the ref had a bad game and any suggestion that he influenced the result is, no disrespect as I've read your posts and consider you to be a fair poster, bollocks! Chelsea are the better team at the minute but we played quite well and deserved a draw. Accept it and move on.
Its always the easiest thing to do when you dont get the result you were hoping for/expected to blame the ref and all sorts of other things! Today we looked like we had it in the bag and it all went wrong in Fergie time! My personal remorse today was more about having Branna go missing for 3 games than only picking up 1 point.
Just posting the following in the other thread. But wanted to recap for all. At the bridge when Robbie was managing us, - we were top of the league - We trailed 2-0 and got back to 2-2. we played with 10 after Ivan touched young for a straight red - Few mins after - When Evans tripped Nando, Clattenburg gave Nando second yellow for diving . Still 2-2 and we played with 9 against Manures - In the dying minutes an offside goal gave them 2-3 win. Those were the days. Dowd is back where he belongs.
lol you got about a decade of the opposite , and you cry about this season and the nasty refs being nasty to you . boo hoo .........
Disappointing to lose 2 points at the death but overall, a draw was probably a fair result and certainly a good weekend for us with all our rivals other than Arsenal also dropping points. Hopefully Costa gets back soon and if we can beat QPR next weekend, we can put some big pressure on City in advance of their game v United - which should be a cracker. 9 games, 7 wins, 2 draws and have played 3 of last seasons top 7 away from home. Lovely stuff.
Fair result, but Dowd was bollocks. If not for De Gea and Courtois the score would've been a lot higher.
Before the game Mickey Quinn wasn't confident Dowd was the right ref for the game and he was right. Dowd is far to card happy for a start.
You have to laugh, John Terry complaining about "Headlocks" by Utd defenders at corners. Of course he's never done that. Every defender does it!
I think the De Gea vs Courtois rivalry is going to be a fun exciting one to watch for the next 10+ years assuming neither of them leave for Madrid/Barca. Hoping for some open games and world class saves in the future.
