thought I would start a thread as none of you buggers seem interested. town are up for this one. in reality we know we are on to a thumping, but please allow us to dream. we are a small club in the back of beyond willing our lads on

it will be a priviledge to have some of your stars playing on the Greenhous stadium, even if they are on the bench recovering from yesterday.

so onwards Shrewsbury Town do your best, surprises can happen, never underestimate Town. may the better team win! Floreat Salopia!

It'll still be a good side we put out. I expect the likes of Cech, Ramires, Schurrle Mikel etc to play. Enjoy it, not often these types of games come around for you I imagine.

Good old fashioned Cup tie. I love 'em, shame I won't be going. Wouldn't mind chucking a few pints down of the commemorative ale.
I enjoy these games far more than some dead rubber Champions League game, against a team I've never heard of.

Even if a few first teamers are rested, we should still give you a game! Enjoy.

3 years ago we had a league cup run, disposing of derby away, Swansea at home and narrowly losing at the emirates 3-1. we kick started their season off and our james Collins opened the scoring. he will be one of our 4 strikers tonight. we are used to giant killing just ask, blackpool, Leicester away, Norwich, everton, Liverpool, Ipswich, man utd, oh and Chelsea! the list goes on. Good luck and Floreat Salopia!

Kids have done better until now.

But, can some one justify how Salah is better than Moses?

As soon as Jose subbed Mikel & Salah we went up. Hope this is end of these two players.

    Ake was impressive.

Didn't see this game, but I saw Ake a couple of weeks back playing almost holding mid, and he was brilliant. This kid needs to play more or we'll lose him.

Good, enjoyable game to watch, some of your second string did well (Ake and the lad at right back in particular). You were always going to win this in extra time so i was a little dissapointed it ended with an unfortunate own goal. Expect to see you and Pool in the final, stuff them please <ok>

well played Chelsea, we gave you a game but class shone through in the end. well done now go and win all 4 cups/leagues, if this was one of your toughest games, well that makes an old man in Devon very proud. so off cloud 9 away to daggers on Saturday and so we begin another cup run on 8th nov. away to Walsall. well done Chelsea, do hope we could meet next summer in a pre season friendly, might do both clubs good. immensely proud of Jose Mourhino taking time out to meet some Shrewsbury children with cancer. that shows the class of the man and your club. so onwards Chelsea to much greater things, you deserve it. Floreat Salopia! PIP PIP AJ Devon.

One positive about Mikel in our squad - Ake will find no problem replacing him!

    Ah ha Diego <ok>
Right back is Andreas Christensen. He is 18 years old and impeccable all game. Good hope!

A pretty disjointed performance from the Blues, to be honest. Maybe it's only to be expected when the players haven't had any time to work together.
Even so, expected a bit more from Salah and Schurrle, some awful decision making.

Oscar needs to slow down a bit too, he's going to knacker himself out again. Was everywhere as usual, which can be a good thing, but when we had a break on he was too deep to keep up with the play.

Ake is going to be some player. Not so convinced by Zouma. If he makes it as a 1st team regular I will be very surprised.

Good luck to Shrewsbury for the rest of the season. Got some good players there.

I'm pissed off Oscar played last night, should've been Baker in there. Not because I dislike Oscar but because he needs these midweek breaks and Baker deserves a start.

Fair play to the Shrews for pushing us close though.

I was surprised Oscar played aswell to be honest.
He is the one who seems to suffer most from Burnout and I would have expected Jose to take the opportunity to rest him, but never mind.

To go off topic a sec, Is Costa fit for the QPR game do we know?

Salah was awful barring setting up Didier for the first goal, his shooting was atrocious.

Schurrle was making good runs but with Didier not as mobile as Diego Costa is, and with Shrews playing 3 centre backs he was always ushered off the ball when he tried to get onto it.

Mikel was the worst though, lazy for the most part and did not look bothered. Ake showed him how to be a holding midfielder, broke up play and brought the ball forward, Matic like. Even showed his tenacity and appetite for a battle when he picked up a yellow card for a retaliation foul.

Onto Zouma, reminds me a lot of David Luiz, with the way that he tries to attack everything even when he shouldn't. He is young though and I am sure Jose will eek it out of his game like he tried to with Luiz. Either he will become the finished article or we will sell him on for a tidy profit.

But best youngster of the night was Christensen, out of position at right back and looked assured all game. Good with the ball at his feet and with it in the air and I think he is a future first team squad player without doubt, along with Ake.

Jon Obi " Champions League, Europa League , FA Cup League Cup" Mikel???

Lets put it this way, every manager we have had good or bad has played him , when they have been in charge, so the real question is
    what does StanDMan know that

    José Mourinho
    Avram Grant
    Luiz Felipe
    Ray Wilkins
    Guus Hiddink
    Carlo Ancelotti
    André Villas-Boas
    Roberto Di Matteo
    Rafael Benítez
    José Mourinho

    Not???

Lets compare your managerial experience and honours against theirs shall we?

Salah and Schurrle made some god awful shots and decision making was not the best.

Mikel was just back from injury.

Zouma has not had enough of a run to get into the team properly.

What I want to know is what happened to that young German defender that played in a couple of our games at the end of last season , he was fantastic.

Sorry not german , Tomáš Kalas, I know we have him on loan , but he was surperb against Liverpool last season

<doh> you are on a mission to oppose whatever I say!

Mikel had the luxury of playing with Essien for most of his career, who saved Mikel's backside all the time.

From 2006 he has only one season where he has made 30+ league appearances. All other seasons he has 20+ league appearances at best.
    Utlitily player at best.

Now Jon Obi "CL, EL, FA, L Cup" Mikel is behind Cesc, Matic, Oscar, Rambo & Ake (yes) for the DM!!

    Just accept.
