What impact has buckteeth had? I tell you **** all & Mavrias started for greece the other week. I watch the lad in pre-season & the lad look decent. I was pissed off when we signed buckteeth because I knew he would stop mavrias getting game time.
Seriously give your head a shake - our players do not need "supporters" like you slating them and calling them childish names. You'd be much more at home up the road
I imagine Buckley would look class in the reserves/behind closed doors games. He looked quality in the championship which is levels and levels above u21 and a kick about behind closed doors. This isnt having a go at Mavrias or even a plug for Buckley who ive been underwhelmed by. My stance on Mavrias is that if he was good enough hed be playing, he's obviously not showed it yet. Id love to be proved wrong.
Neutral here, seeming as you lot are the fairest and most generous fans on any board and very welcoming to boot, would you mind awfully if I wished Crystal Palace Football Club the very best of British for tonight's thrilling encounter? They don't seem to have a match thread you see. Thank you so much. Ps I hope your relegation battle pans out the right way. Cheers.
Cant see us winning tonight, sorry! I just feels that Palace will not have to play particularly well for them to get 3 points. I just have memories of the same fixture last season and the disappointment I felt! Horrible place to have to go to on a Monday night!
1995 last time we won there. 20 Monday games without a win. Normally do crap in front of the cameras. Shipped 10 goals in the last two games with none scored. We are due a win, and a bloody good win too. I expect nothing though,
Hate selhurst park, a bitch to get to, we were playing ok last time until o'shea's **** up, gus is right too many mistakes, own goals etc, i have a new found confidence for tonight, haaaaaaaaaaawaaaaaaaaaay! Probably get dashed pretty quickly though
2-1 the Lads. They owe us, and often when they owe us they pay us, hence we remain in the league. In a rush of blood this morning I backed O'Shea anytime sunderland 2-1. 144/1.
We went on a great run after Halloween a few years back too. Just a shame they get themselves into such situations of debt in the first place.
Lee Cattermole will have no concerns if Anthony Reveillere makes his Sunderland debut at Selhurst Park tonight, but has warned the Frenchman he needs to brush up on his English quickly. Reveillere is in consideration to start the televised game against Crystal Palace as Gustavo Poyet looks for ways to shore up a defence which has conceded ten goals in its last two matches. It is a difficult situation to be pitched into, and a night game against a physical side at the cramped surroundings of the Eagles’ home is hardly the most inviting introduction. But although Reveillere has not played English football before, as a 34-year-old French international with Napoli, Valencia and then-serial domestic champions Lyon amongst his former clubs, Cattermole would be quite relaxed to line alongside the defender. “It’s important to have someone experienced coming in,” said Cattermole of his new team-mate, able to join outside of the transfer window because he was out of contract. “He’s looked good in training and his cv automatically gets respect off the boys. “He’s a natural right-back, and once he starts speaking better English he’ll do great for us. “Communication helps everybody on the pitch. “At the minute it’s all about getting that little bit of confidence back. Then you start believing the ball’s going to drop for you. If we can get that back, we can look forward again.” Players may have to be sacrificed to help restore confidence. Poyet steadfastly refused to drop Vito Mannone after he conceded eight times at Southampton, saying it would be unfair to leave him out after one bad game, but that two could be a different matter. Mannone was at fault for the second goal in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory at the Stadium of Light, and looked ill at ease. Reassurances about his place have been notable by their absence this time, and it would be a major surprise were Costel Pantilimon not to make his Premier League debut for Sunderland tonight. Wes Brown was also at fault against Arsenal and having been substituted at half-time at Southampton – even though there was no defender on the bench – he could make way for Reveillere. The Frenchman is excited about playing in England, and expects the normally excellent Selhurst Park atmosphere to inspire him. “The Premier League is a competition I have watched very closely and I have played against some of the teams, including the Manchester clubs, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur,” he told his new club’s website. “I also came up against Liverpool in the Champions League and against Swansea City last season – I really enjoy the atmosphere and the mind-set towards football here in England. “I had some opportunities to come to England during my time at Lyon and before I joined Napoli, so here I am at 34 and what can I say other than better late than never? I am very keen to help out and contribute.”
they have 8 defenders on the books - and steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olympique_Lyonnais#First-team_squad
When I'm inside the stadium they get more support but sorry I don't rate the lad at all. I didn't when we signed him & I still don't now. championship at best just like Bridcock & Gomez.
Wasn't he at Napoli last? Not good enough for a contract renewal doesn't necessarily mean he can't do a job for us. Hopefully he turns out better than Dossena
Sorry but Buckley has never look class to me. Mavrias look decent in pre-season & he has played in the champions league & for his country. the lad deserves his chance.
Agree 100% mate. Lad had a Greece cap aged 18 and played massive games for Panathinaikos, including a man of the match game v Olimpiacos. He absolutely deserves a chance.
