Think the intention is because last race of the season can be a nothing special thing as it can be on the bag but it's not good for me. It's like having the last game of the season 6 points and 2 for a draw just to make it interesting
so open to manipulation, we were talking today that refs can influence a £90m decision on relegation, F1 is in the billions
It's exactly the same as the Championship play off finals. Just another way to try keeping things interesting up to the last minute. Hamilton has won far more races than Rosberg so, to me, deserves to win. His family has previous though, Keke rosberg won only once the season he won the drivers championship.
Against it at the moment, because I want Hamilton to win. If Rosberg had been winning, I'd have had a different opinion
Well Hamilton seems the superior driver, and has accrued the most number of points despite Rosberg being a dirty cheating git (Spa), with a points margin that would naturally see him crowned F1 champion unless he broke down in the last race and Rosberg won. It seems unfair that he could lose the title, having come out on top far more frequently. But, as it's worked out, it's lead to a lot more interest in the last race, as planned. It's bullshit to have such an obvious manipulation of the rules for pure frivolity, but that's what F1 is now. I think most people hope Hamilton wins, because if he doesn't it'll be like being at a party and one guy suddenly proposes to his girlfriend, only to be told to **** off, and then having them both stay around afterwards... Awkward...
It's taking the 'sport' out of it, and making it solely entertainment. Lewis should be champion right now, it's bullshit. If Rosberg wins it is a scandal.
Can't stand Lewis Hamilton but I think I'd prefer him over Rosberg as championship winner. The points thing is a bit of a joke I reckon. I will be very surprised if Hamilton even finishes this last race, a German Constructor with the Championship in the bag already, sending out a German and an English driver in their two cars to compete for the Drivers Championship on the last day of the season.
This is my worry. However, as both the engines and cars are built in the UK, with teams of UK engineers, perhaps Rosberg should be the more worried of the two. (I hope)
Yeah, that had crossed my mind as well, either way it's unfair. Rosberg should have been reprimanded for that puncture he caused Hamilton in Spa, that's gonna get dragged up again for sure if Rosberg beats Hamilton to the title.
Don't see what the problem is. Everyone knew about it at the start of the season. Its not like where they change the rules about instructions from the pits half way through the season. I don't like it and hope it is a one season wonder, but winning or losing due to double points is no more or less a victory than any other season.
Scalextric springs to mind for me. Why is it Hamilton v Rosberg? Those two have the best cars. It's about as interesting as Djokovic v Murray with one of them playing with a 70s wooden racket.
