I was at a 'From The Jam' gig on Saturday night. Bruce Foxton was brilliant, still jumping up and down at 59 yo, and his knee replacements. Seeing Tim Booth next Monday night, a cracking frontman for James.
Vocals - Amy Lee & Roger Daltrey Guitars - Slash & Bernard Butler Bass - Chris Wolstenholme Drums - Ronnie Vianucci
Yep, 59 alright. Seriously if you get the chance go and see 'From The Jam' play live, go. The current tour is the 'Setting Sons' album + some of the best of the others. The Guitarist/Vocalist is a lad called Russell Hastings - he's as good as Weller. There anything but a tribute act and rather than like Weller who plays The Jam songs because he has too, these want too and it shows. She's a Star - one of my faves by James. Best for me is 'Sometimes' (lyrics in sig below). Classic live.
If it's an all time British band then: Vocals Maggie Bell and Steve Marriott Lead guitars Steve Marriott and Alvin Lee Base Guitar John Entwistle Drums Keith Moon
Love the Jam. Tube Station. Going Underground. English Rose. Billy Hunt. Funny as I never really liked Weller as a solo artist. He seems to have his head up his own arse these days Love James as well. She's A Star melts me.
Little Richard backed by Sam and Dave and the Bar-K's, I'm on a role here, pleased they are not on at the same time mind.
Haway lads, if we're gonna mack a band up we've got to pick folk ho are at least still breathing surely?
