"He’s come in and done us a favour, to be fair"

What the hell does that mean?

Clement and Sherwood said no. No one else wanted the job under the terms that it was being offered - no chance to bring players in, lose your job in May if we don't stay up.

Stopped us having to pay a proper managers wage?

What Les means is he's done Les a favour. Getting worried by the sounds emenating from HQ again.

    DOF? My Arse.

No one else was prepared to come in and lose nearly all the remaining matches, and then take responsibility, so we owe Ramsey for that...I think :emoticon-0108-speec

    Tin hat firmly on..............check.
    Head above parapet..........check.

Ok................I personally think CR should be given the opportunity to carry on as manager irrespective of which league we sit in come the end of the season. I also think he should be given the chance to build his own squad in the summer.

Reason being..................he seems to genuinely want to be at the club and was prepared to take on a relatively impossible task.

Every other approach thus far has failed and cost us shed loads of money...............why not give this a go?

For the last few years its been the hope that kills us, so yeah why not give it a go. At least we won't to concern ourselves with that pesky emotion for a while.

I do respect CR for taking on the role but I have a feeling Les made sure no else was going to get it. Sadly that undermines CR.

I thought Clement only said no as it was during the season?

That's how people have interpreted it. I have posted elsewhere a couple of times that he is said to be very interested in Sunderland, whichever league they are in, as he gets on very well with the Director of Football, Congerton, there.

Will Ferdinand's well publicised friendship with Ramsey make it difficult for him a) to sack him and b) to work with his successor? Probably yes for both, I imagine they will both go at the same time.

Very true he is clearly taking a harsh bullet for that money grabbing cu** rednapp! He should have bowed out with a smidgen of respect after Wembley . Ffs I read every comment every post .... But **** we as fans Dnt deserve this display of absolute disrespect from the management players and staff , time and time again something just hasn't been right ... .... Ffs .....FFsake!

Until the Neil Adams episode at Norwich this year, I would have agreed with you as I was totally in favour of seeing him being given the opportunity, more so as he had won things with his U-18 side. But as we all saw, he was out of his depth by December this year, even in the Championship..

Adams was 100% Norwich City, knew the team, knew everything about the club, the fans and was determined to do anything and everything to take City back to the PL etc but was a potentially disastrous appointment in hindsight, hence replaced in less than a year.

I know the circumstances QPR find themselves in are not exactly the same, but they are not that far removed when it comes to appointing a 'rookie' and hoping it will work out.

Fair points I think, just out of interest do you not count your new manager as a rookie? He appears to be doing very well and has turned your season around but does a couple of years managing in Scotland make him experienced? Some times a punt on inexperience can work out!

I guess it underlines that Forest Gump was right...you never know what you're going to get...our appointments of seasoned premiership managers have both failed terribly and we're now stuck taking a punt on a rookie. I hope it works out eventually...it all seems too late now..

When you compare him to even the likes of Martinez, Lambert & Rodgers, then yes he is still a rookie, but in the 18 months in charge at Hamilton, he did something at that club that no other manager had achieved in perhaps 60 years or so, which I guess is what grabbed the attention of our Chief Exec. So while a junior in terms of experience, he does appear to have something about him that is perhaps a cut above most other 'newbie's'. That is speculation up to a point of course, and the next few years should provide a clearer idea of how good or average he actually is.
