Beginning to look like it is going to happen. Not sure how I feel about it. Should some really be turning their noses up to an English international?

 

He's a quality striker at Championship level but can he make the step up? Perhaps if Johnson is still in Warnock's sights we'd have a useful looking partnership. A good start if it's true..

 

Cardiff fans didn't appear that enamoured with Bothroyd... whinging prima donna and so on.

However, Warnock's been a fan for ages. If he can keep his job there's every chance he could do a Taarabt with Bothroyd (without the need to build the team around him). I'm sure Warnock's enthusiasm would be key to our being favourites to sign him. Wonder what the wage deal would be?

With all that's been going on (or rather, not going on) can't deny that I'd feel a bit better with a signing of this magnitude...

Bothroyd is a quality player. Not sure why Cardiff fans don't fancy him much, 41 in 116 appearances is a very good return. Me thinks they've got the arse because he didn't sign a new contract there.

Always caused us problems when we played them. Big, great in the air, good hold up play, skill + first touch, bit of pace. Job done

 

Great signing. Would fit in our system perfectly especially if we do keep taarabt. He would do the job that Hulse and Helgsuon couldn't really do last year.

Johnson or DJ to come in and play the roles Smith and Routledge did last year rather than an as an actual strike partner and and we've got a side capable of getting goals.
