It implies that you have only been a football league team again since 2015. Get used to hearing it quite a lot
If thats the best someone can come up with then I think its pretty safe to say thats perfectly fine with me and im sure others here will agree Shiny I think its something extra for us here to laugh at Looks like us getting promoted has rattled a few and in desperation, "15ers" is the best someone can come up with. Suppose though you have to replace "Rovers are down thread" with something I guess
I wouldn't expect you to reply with anything else CJS. You're not exactly going to come out and say "oh that hurts my feelings and I'm deeply offended by it" When you call us 82ers it has no effect on me what so ever because at the end of the day we're the bigger and better club. Who also took a hell of a lot more fans to Wembley than you 15ers Anyway welcome back to the proper football leagues. One of the best things to come out of yesterday for you lot was now you'll be back on FIFA 16!
I just say it how it is Shiny Im sure us saying 82ers doesnt bother you. Im sure it bothers someone though We took more to Wembley in 2007 than you did vs Hull. Remember you were trying to get into the Prem while us trying to get into league 1 at the time! Strange how we would take more to Wembley than yourselves. Numbers low this time as £44 a ticket which included £3 booking fee was a farce! That is for a 5th tier games! Especially as 'some' tickets in your JPT final for the same seats were £20 apparently! Thats what I have read elsewhere. I know several gasheads who went in 2007 but just could afford it this time, especially after paying for the early bird season tickets. All just wrong timing. Also (and by the way I dont get these people) but some decided to stay away like they have done since relegation. I was suprised we only took 27k this time. I thought it would be more like 30-32k but it could have been if they just didnt price out a lot of people. They could have quite easily have made all remaining tickets £20 in the final days to boost sales. But their lost. FIFA16? Nah, not for me. Prefer FM. FIFA is boring.
Ah the old "we took more the first time" Not really a fair argument, you're ignoring the fact we were allocated 37,500 and no more tickets could be given due to it being a sell out, we sold our allocation as did Hull, where as you were playing someone who didn't sell many so you were given more tickets. We took more to the JPT than you took in your first play off, notice this time we were given the chance of more tickets. Anyway don't really want to take the conversation away from the thread. So I shall love you and leave you to enjoy your success
The Gas and Strawberry Town who both bounced back after 1 season and both won on penalties. now you need promo to league 1, to catch up with us tinpots. well done gas, your pilot light is well alight.
Yep I found it hard to enjoy the occasion at all until the final kick - first half flew by though, second half took forever, extra time....well.... felt like it would never end!
I thoroughly enjoyed the whole day out and made the most of it, clapping enthusiastically for Smith & Jones and Martin Tole. I thought the match absolutely flew by, and as I've stayed positive throughout the whole season I couldn't get too down about us going behind so early. Anyway, I'd seen in before in 2007. When Puddy handled I was sure he'd be sent off though - the referee bottled it! (thankfully), and from then on most of my nerves came towards the end of the second half and the end of extra time; hoping that Grimsby wouldn't get a late goal to win it. Pittman's penalty miss and then Balanta's subsequent successful kick relieved the tension a little, and when Mansell was walking up to take the deciding one I was literally begging him to score, shouting 'COME ON LEE MANSELL!' about four times, and when he scored and we'd won I shouted in celebration so much I'm surprised I didn't lose my voice. I did feel sorry for Grimsby, if they'd won we couldn't have complained - it was that tight a game. I hope they go up next season.
Spot on! Think we all went through every emotion in the book on Sunday, definitely the most intense,nerve-racking game I've ever been to. Was clear the sheer importance of the result to us as a club subdued our fans somewhat and affected the teams performance. Everyone concerned appeared edgy and not many fans I spoke to before the game were very confident of getting the result we needed on the day. Yes we deserved our promotion based on the whole of the season but if I were a Grimsby supporter, I'd be devastated ,agree that I really hope they make it next season - based on what I saw on Sunday, they should turn out to be the team to beat in the Conference next season. Incidentally,to see the pre season odds making us joint 2nd favs to win lge 2 seems ridiculous to me at the moment, but I would love to be proved wrong!
I was waiting for the rovers twitter to state that penalty by Lee Mansell had gone in he net, it took ages before something came on the screen, I thought he had missed and whoever puts the messages up was afraid to tell us. The GAS are back in the league and I shall be back watching next season
If we lose I will put it down to A Being in a higher league B Blame CJS and Chris-gashead After all a man can only take so much blame
