Either we are not very good or it's the normal young squad problem, if things are going well they are world beaters, start going wrong and they need guidance or they fall to pieces, this is where the captain or senior players should step forward.
Don't know other than Nelson & Ehmer are in the picture. Norris has been mentioned. This indicates that some if not all main contenders for the starting 11 were in the match. It might have 'only' been a friendly - but capitulation at any level is not good for morale ( of fans ) - just ask any English Cricket fan - and there's an Aussie leading the Open golf at the moment. Captains and managers are paid to ensure that we don't embarrass ourselves -and to ensure that players make enough effort - regardless of the status of the match. I'd hope that JE gave the players a few choice French words at the end of the game.
Thanks Freddie, good to read, even if it is the Malice. Does Martin Allen still do a column for them?
Just to be clear I'm not a "Malice" reader ... far from it (!!) just a cybernaut. Apparently, Martin 'Mad Dog' Allen returned with his latest column for Sportsmail on 9th September. edit - and Allen now manager of Brentford ! No wonder brb can't take, seriously, anything connected with The Mail.
LOL...brilliant, typical, at least the supporters know what's going on, well the lower league one's do any way! Some good points made in that article by MA, as always in touch with the supporters at lower league level.
