In total shock. Cannot believe there is anyone alive who doesn't think IJ and the LC isn't better than Crystal Turd or Temple of Doom. Connery and Ford are genius together, and it's ridiculously quotable. Forces of Good vs Nazis, Raiders and LC are proper battles against evil. Also John Rhys-Davies as Salah makes a Jones movie. I've disagreed with a fair bit on this forum over time, but this is the limit ;-)
I think they're all good - the tommy gun episode, though not the best of the series, is still a good movie in itself.
Couldn't have put it better.... Only Connery can take down a Messerschmitt with an umbrella. To those that think the Crystal Skull is better than the Last Crusade I have this to say:
Rocky 5 is a good flick. Always makes me laugh when I see his onscreen son has aged about five years and developed a Latino appearance in the time it took for Rocky to leave Russia and land back in Philadelphia. RIP Sage Stallone. Last Crusade is garbage. To even consider it a better film than Temple of Doom is folly of the highest order.
From what I hear going to Russia puts five years on you... Sickening what happened to Emmanuel Frimpong there. Don't agree with the two match ban; they should prosecute the fans that made the chants. That is what would happen in any other civilised nation.
From a report on Liverpool's win in Adelaide: Joe Gomez continued his run of stellar form. The 18-year-old continued to look a class above on the left, even while it was clear he isn’t especially strong on his left foot—which just made how good he was more impressive. Unless he can develop his weaker foot, it’s probably not a position one would want to see him in for an extended run against top opposition, but his talent again stood out, with most of Liverpool’s best moves seeing the young defender linking with Adam Lallana.

Just watched Poyet score the winning penalty in a shoot-out as West Ham struggled to beat "a bunch of waiters" as Joe Mercer dismissed the Maltese in less PC times. It was a Kermorgant-style smart-arse effort but fooled the keeper OK. Loads of matches have ended in penalties in recent weeks, but there haven't been the traditional controversies as to whether the keeper moved off his line, although in many cases they did. But in this West Ham game I noticed that both keepers often started at least a yard off their line. One WH kicker hesitated before kicking by which time the Maltese keeper was two yards off his line. Have referees been instructed to ignore this? It was so blatant, no-one could fail to see it. Hammers will find us a much tougher test. We are at least as good as a team of head waiters.
Can you name every English football suffix in 5 minutes? http://www.buzzfeed.com/paulcurry/and-another#.rmy5XJmG5
Just got back from Concord Rangers 2 Cambridge United XI 1. Dreadful weather. Nice chips, though. Connor Gough is the new Rangers keeper. It'll be good for him to play regular football after a couple of tricky years at Bristol Rovers. Got speaking to his dad, a lovely chap with an in-depth knowledge of Charlton's youth system.
Thanks, Ponders. He played 39 games for Grays last year, so he is not exactly rusty. Are Conor and his dad related to former Charlton player Charlie Gough and his better known son Richard, the Scottish international? (I must have known the answer to that when Conor was with us, but my memory is shot these days). Still only 21, young for a keeper, so there is no reason why he cannot climb back up the tiers if he has the inner drive to do so. He certainly passes the height test. What did his dad think about the Gomez transfer?
Yeah, he did well for Grays but the disappointment at leaving Rovers is clear. He'll do well with Concord, I'm sure. I'll be making regular visits to Thames Road, so I'll find out about the Charles and Richard connection. You are right about his height, eddie - and Gough Snr is just as tall!
We currently have players from 19 different footballing nations on our books. I imagine that is a club record. How many more would it take to make Vol blow a gasket? The nineteenth is Mitov in our development squad. The rest of that squad are all English. which is heart-warming, but I imagine that situation will have to change if we are to compete with other clubs.
Anyone watched the UK Premiere of Sharknado 3:Oh Hell NO! Really good, liked spotting the cameo roles in it. Was really hoping Jedward would have gotten eaten.
I thought we had resolved the twin Harriotts issue (whether by psychiatry or surgery) then this popped up on Charlton Life today: "... offload Harriott, Bikey and Harriott." You can't keep a good mutant life-form down.
GL will look a right prat if he cannot do better than this 11-year-old tomorrow: http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-lancashire-33710795
Katrien asked about promotion on #92live. As a colleague just put it ''she doesn't fancy your chances''.
