    According to Yahoo:

And SkySports are running it too now:

There's no direct quotes from Wenger, but they do say the information came from a Press-Conference given in Malaysia at the start of the tour.

"Arsenal have completed the signing of Gervinho from Lille with manager Arsene Wenger claiming that both Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas will be staying at The Emirates next season.

Wenger made the assertion during a press conference in Malaysia at the start of the Gunners' pre-season tour.

Ivory Coast playmaker Gervinho has been in talks with Arsenal for a week after the clubs agreed a fee earlier in the month, though the player will not join up with his new team-mates in Asia.

Wenger added that Nasri was "very happy" at Arsenal and would be staying, as would the club's talismanic skipper Fabregas, despite the player's reported desire to move to Barcelona."

    Anyone head this Press-Conference?

Arsene is just going through the motions I'm afraid. Both players will be leaving, its just a matter of time.

    Haven't seen the press conference.

I hope the reports are true but we shall see. Is the decision in Wengers hans tho', we have seen this before with other players.

I want to believe it but i have a nagging doubt otherwise.

it's real, being reported everywhere now:
    http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/jul/11/arsene-wenger-cesc-fabregas-samir-nasri
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...Nasri-staying-Arsenal-says-Arsene-Wenger.html

On Nasri, Wenger said: "Will he be at the club next season? I say yes. The second part (of the question) - will he sign a new contract? I hope yes, but I am not the only one to decide."

Interesting that Wenger doesn't say that they're close to extending Nasri's contract, just that he should be staying. That worries me, I don't want him to leave for free. I'd rather sell him for 20m now personally.

He appeared less sure on Fabregas, but said: "Cesc loves the club and hopefully we will manage. We know that this story for Barcelona has gone on for years now, we have to close that and focus on the season, hopefully with Cesc Fabregas."

The Fabregas thing looks like a bit of hard-ball with Barca. It's a "ok sure, you won't cough up the money, well we'll just keep him then" to me.

If Nasri is given 110k a week to stay, RvP should be given parity.

  5. Who knows if they'll stay but I agree with you about Nasri going. If however he is given 110K to stay then it would not reflect well if RVP is not given parity. He has after all been entirely loyal to the club.

From Nasri's point of view, I can't see any reason for him to sign a new deal this year. Even if he stays he can wait till next summer, see how Arsenal and rival clubs have performed and make his decision then, whether to stay or go. As a free agent he'll certainly get a big old signing on fee to boot as well.

If he isn't going to sign you might as well cash in. This transfer window is going to turn into silly season and you will still get a good price even with only 1 year left as Chelsea, City and United are all looking for a midfielder and there could potentially be a bidding war. Losing him for nothing in 11 months is surely not an option??

Keep Fabregas though as you will still get 30 million plus for him next summer if need be.

Nasri has said he is 'committed to the club' and Fabregas has said that he 'is happy at Arsenal and looking forward to winning an important trophy'

I think it's imperative that we keep our two best players. We've already starting adding to the squad too and with hopefully one or two more, we'll be in great shape for the new season <ok>

  9. If by some miracle Arsene Wenger has engineered contract extensions in respect of Fabregas and Nasri on top of which we are expecting reinforcements who are able to help us to some decent silverware, perhaps a change of captaincy too, then I imagine most of us will be overjoyed. Wait and see I guess but I'm not holding my breath just yet though.

Pep can say what he likes. Fabregas is under contract with Arsenal, so it's up to Wenger. Nasri is staying at the club, Wenger has already said so. Hopefully he will sign a new contract, but if not then he'll go on a free, but what is certain is that he will be an Arsenal player this season <ok>

There is no way Wenger will sell both Fabregas and Nasri in the same window.

If Fabregas does leave, we have Nasri, Wilshere and Ramsey who can all play in that position.

If Modric goes, you're screwed <ok>

At the end of the day the Board will sell, all'us 'ave, all'us will.

They won't turn down £20M for Nasri and £35M for Cesc.

Funny how Wenger always keeps quiet at AST meetings, just gives a load of platitudes, he has to do as he's told by the Board.

Forget trophies we'll be lucky to get a Euro cup place next season, oh forgot there's always the Emirates Cup although not certain about that Doh.

If Nasri stays it will be for only 1 reason and thats to leave on a free transfer at the end of this season. By the end of Jan 2013 he will have signed a pre contract agreement with another club.

Would be thinking that we would need more than one or two players. Surely a CB (if not two) a LB a midfielder and gk??

Your Cesc is on Fire, I'm sorry to correct you but if Nasri has only 1 yr left on his contract he can sign a pre-contract agreement on the 1st Jan 2012. the rules state that if any player has a contract which runs out before the new season starts he can leave on a free transfer.
