I took two guests with me today. Deliberately arrived early at the West Stand ticket office, knowing Charlton of old. Greeted by a very long queue. Eventually got to the front of queue at 1.40. A flustered looking woman emerged from the West to give the stewards and ticket staff a pep talk. She then bellowed at all and sundry that STs were not being reissued in this queue....to some anger from those queuing. Only at Charlton...

Match itself.....we got a lot better when Watt replaced Aherne Grant, who is not up to Championship football. Impressed with Pope and Solly. Thought Makienok looked poor. If he scores 5 league goals this season, I will be amazed.

Do you think we've found the new Carl Leaburn after all these years? Why haven't we heard from Franco on this subject?

I notice you have picked out the English players. Were you not impressed with Baeur, Diarra, Gudmundsson, Ba?
If not you must have been watching a different game to me.

Of the new boys I particularly liked Baeur and Kashi, expect them to cement their place in the side.

The only depressing thing about today was the realisation that I am now older than the average age of the squad. Bauer is nearly 3 years younger than me!

Hoilett is **** but also Canadian. This explains his omission from the Jamaica squad.

Thought Ba, Mak and K A-G were poor first half. The two who stayed on got much better 2nd half. Bauer looks a great signing.

Wrong! He has declined to represent Canada (hardly surprising) but is eligible for Jamaica, so it does not explain anything.

Instead of stating the obvious, but still managing to get the wrong answer, you should be explaining why he was excellent before joining QPR and has been crap since. Injury problems are the usual reason but I don't believe that was a reason here.

Vol, I am sorry to hear the home will only let you out now with two minders instead of one as previously. This will limit your ability to get involved in controversy somewhat, though it is reassuring that you managed to find a little today. ("... anger from those queuing").

He was born in Ontario, Canada. Seems he doesn't want to play for anyone but he wouldn't get in the Jamaica team right now anyway.

He was only excellent before QPR if you only watch Match of the Day. He's a highlights player. 12 goals in total for Blackburn and the odd fancy dribble and Mark Hughes gave him a four year deal on massive money. He's got one trick, to drop the shoulder and cut inside, and unless the full-back is stupid enough to fall for that every time he's essentially a very small, not particularly quick winger who can't cross a ball.

Hughes to QPR must be a bit like Pardew is to us, Hughes has taken over a very good Stoke side and made them even better while, when at QPR, he spent all his time buying rather over priced and over age players and paid them big wages, remarkable?

At the time I think he thought he just needed one good season with us and a top four side would come in for him so he packed the side with what he thought would be great players short term.

In reality they were all **** and expensive. Redknapp amazingly did as badly, perhaps even worse.

Does anyone give Luzon credit for the win yesterday?

I thought the team looked very well organised. We started cautiously and grew into the game after nullifying a lot of QPR possession. I liked the way that we tried to play the ball on the floor and not just lump it up front to Big Mak.

I've got a feeling Big Mak might be a bit of a Marmite player with the fans. I'm firmly pro, even if his most telling contribution yesterday was when he didn't kick the ball.

Like last season, perhaps Luzon should give his half time team talk prior to the game :)
