A CB will be coming in I think (if we can dump Will (in a sack in the Tyne ideally)) ..plus maybe another ..cheap ish youngster like Ivan

This is Mikey though ..and we could face another 5 years of crisis only investment. .I don't think so. .but..you never know with the fat controller

Could be he's doing it to prove a point to the Rangers fans. That's just the cynic in me though.

More likely that collapse has seen him focus his efforts in one direction - plus he's done alright for himself over the last few years. We've done alright this summer. Plenty of risk attached but what I have seen of the new lads is very promising. All will only get better. I'd much rather be in our situ than say Sunderland. Both in a similar predicament end of season, I know who's business I'd rather have done. They have a loan who has ability, a couple of dodgy centre backs, a right back who may or may not cut it, and a very promising signing on the left. They are being told there is no more money having hardly spent a bean after flogging Wickham (who I still think has a lot of promise).

As much I as I feel no sympathy and fully enjoy their turmoil, it is a bit ****e from Ellis Short. Only 12 months ago we were being told how bad Ashley was in comparison, and he was bad. It looks as Short is no better and now they are chanting letting him know. Funny old game is football.

Same. Rose tinted glasses off for a second, I know whose business is better. Lens was apparently superior to Wijnaldum and M'Villa better than Mitrovic. I don't think so.

I like M'Villa and Lens. I wouldn't swap any of ours for them at present but Lens could be better than Thauvin? However this thing of keep getting loans is a bit off for them. I do think M'Villa is the type to be committed but he will just stepping stone them with no real benefit to Sunderland financially. Their problem for me is Coates and Kaboul. Two injury prone and error prone in Kabouls case, centre backs. I can't understand why they haven't gone and bought a ball player in midfield. Cattermole is no great but they've just gone and got a similar mould in M'Vila. They will have to then try to make him the ball player I suppose but its not his game.

Short has lied reading what General Stumpy Cock is saying. He seems utterly hacked off and is now applying pressure through the media. That is never a good point to reach and usually ends with a walk out or sacking. I doubt very much Short will just be backed into a corner and give in. There must be a reason he is holding the purse strings tight - perhaps waiting for next years TV money. However that is very short sighted - he has to gamble now.

I remember seeing shocking passing stats for M'villa back when he was linked to Spurs. Jeremain Lens started off with a bit of hype but it boiled over a few seasons back.

The only thing that has prompted Ashley to get his stubby little hands in his pockets is the new TV deal. He cant gamble on loosing that level of money. Win something my arse..............!!!

I agree especially since we have a selection dilemma even in defence.
