Second yellow was definitely a yellow card.

Not really, a straight red is based on a single incident which can be reviewed easily.
Yellows can be for a number of reasons, totting up of minor fouls, dissent, swearing, so how can you cancel one of them.

Cout's and Noble both received a second yellow, and hence a red,for nothing challenges. Kevin Friend was really, really poor today.

He's always ****ing poor, the man is a complete joke.

As his that other melt who ruined the game at Newcastle today - Mariner.

They referee like they're the centre of attention. Great refs are barely seen, those 2 grab the limelight.

I bet they're both hung like canaries

At least with Palace beating the chavs, our ****e performance doesn't get top billing. Only silver lining of today.

These two challenges were punished as bad/dangerous fouls...............and neither were.

Noble's was a studs up challenge on Can I think, seen reds given for less but ok, yellow card.
Cout's first seems to have some confusion about it, I thought it was an unfair tackle, others have said not retreating for a free kick, somebody else
said dissent. So not sure on that.........

He messed around on a free given to them. The camera cut off it but came back to booking. I'd would say he blocked a quick free myself.

    Both yellows were merited

Noble was sent off right but not on a straight red.

No way on earth ever was that a straight red. It was a total evening up by a weak ref

Yes that's what I meant he got a straight red for what was just barely a yellow.

If it'd been two yellows I'd say ok fair enough but .... a straight red looks to me like friend had evening things up in his mind there.

Nobles red was an absolute joke and was Friend was deffo trying to even things up. It wasn't a foul for starters. Secondly the game had already stopped so any red card offence for a challenge shouldn't have counted anyway.

Actually thought Coutinho was unlucky to get that yellow. He'd already committed to the slide and would have got the ball if Payet didn't do his pirrouette. He didn't even slide through forcefully was a controlled slide.

So basically he went to ground early, got nowhere near the ball and bowled the more skilful player over. Yellow card every time <ok>

But you guys also think a flying kick from Nani into Arbeloa was Arbeloas fault so going to ground early and bowling someone over is nothing more than a fair challenge

Dunno how you can call a flying kick anything but a red. Eboue got the same against you guys and Adrian got one the other day. Only Howard Webb agrees with you guys but he's a donkey of a ref
