I sense a bit of press mischief here...... currently Palace are higher in the PL... currently.... but that doesn't make them' bigger' so to speak.... Palace are also higher than Man U, Arsenal and Chelsea by the way....

If this whole article is true and he is bitter about his move away then he needs to be moved on in January... for VERY big money..

    http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/09/0...-bigger-club-than-newcastle-says-moussa-siss/

Moussa Sissoko has risked the ire of the Toon Army by suggesting Crystal Palace are a bigger club than Newcastle, in quotes published by the Chronicle.
The 26-year old was addressing his prospects of breaking into the French national team when he suggested that his rivals for a starting berth play for higher calibre clubs – including Palace.
“Look at those who play in my position (for France): Blaise (Matuidi) who did extraordinary things for PSG, Paul (Pogba) who is wonderful for Juventus, Yohan Cabaye who has just signed for Crystal Palace and Morgan Schneiderlin who is now at Manchester United. Compared to me, they all play in big clubs,” said the Magpies midfielder.
“The (France) coach has said and repeated, you have to play. I took it into account. I am in Newcastle but it is not a ‘Big Four’ club and I do not forget that the media focus on bigger clubs than mine and (yet some of their players) are not called (up by Didier Deschamps).”
Alan Pardew[/a] has done a fantastic job at Selhurst Park and has carried over the team’s excellent form towards the back end of last season into this campaign.
The Eagles currently sit in second place with nine points after four games while Newcastle languish in the bottom three having yet to record their first win.
Sissoko also admitted that the Magpies vetoed a potential move away this summer - in the same report - and his latest sound-bites point towards a player seemingly keen for the exit door.

He should be thankful we are crap - he is probably guaranteed games with us. And no doubt the argument about what constitutes a bigger club will now ensue.

Sissoko is not good enough for a top side. On his day he is unplayable but he is woefully inconsistent.
Palace bigger than Newcastle? Yes, okay. If he said that then he can do one. He's obviously keen to link up with his mate Pardew if that is true. Why? Because training sessions were a doddle and hard work wasn't expected.
I suspect it's true sadly as he has form for causing mischief. Let's not forget the circumstances surrounding his move to us. He forced a move from Toulouse.

He is a bit of a plonker trying to force a move now. Why not do it during the window or just before the next one? Or maybe he is hoping a big championship team will come in for him.

First, I reckon more people do know Jack Palance than Newcastle United. Great actor.

Second, it's just mis-interpretation. He had meant that Cabaye WAS playing for "big club" PSG before then signing for Palace. It's just typically absurd of the press to spin it up in this way. Besides which, he was talking about the National Team. Does a regular starting berth at Man U, Juve or PSG offer a better guarantee starting for France than playing for the Toon? Of course it does.

Matuidi, Pogba and Cabaye, if he sees himself as having to out play any of the aforementioned to secure his bearth in the French Squad. I am not sure it's only the clubs they are at ( bigger than NUFC ?) that is his only problem.
Possibly an inclination towards going missing, attitude and consistency may also need to be factored in.
Well if he wants his move out then at least we should see some better effort from him between now and January then. Sadly reading between the lines it does seem to indicate that he stays because he is pretty much guaranteed to start for us, not because he wants to be at or believes in the club.

He is quoted completely out of context. The three ... indicate they have omitted alot of what Sissoko has said to get to some crudely suggestive point. He is clearly talking about about Cabaye's time with PSG. Anyone with a brain would realise this. Just pathetic clickbait by arsehole journos.

Palace will never, ever be as big as us. Enjoy your **** rivalry with Brighton which no **** in their right mind cares about.

Oh and Pardew is a massive ****.

I think Moussa is perfect for a big four club personally. The problem is he would be used in the same way he is for France. As an impact sub. When you have his level of commitment and inconsistency, its the only way for you to be effective.

Are Palace bigger than us? I don't think so. They probably have a similar level of pulling power right now. They are flying high, have just signed Cabaye, are in London. Whether our fans like it or not, the last few years has done a lot of damage to our reputation. We still had the after glow of the KK era for a good few years into the early 2000's. Once Robson departed it has been a downward spiral, compounded by Ashley's arrival and frugal approach (being kind).

We have had loads of bad publicity. We aren't seen as great payers. This all transmits to the media and the wider public/industry. We have taken steps this summer to repair that damage, but its a long way back. With our fanbase and stadium etc, we have the potential to leapfrog a lot of clubs if we get it right. That's all it is at present though, potential. Call it a sleeping giant etc etc, it matters not.

There are plenty below us too. Watford, Sunderland, Norwich, Bournemouth, West Brom, Leicester have all got bigger PR problems than we have in terms of selling the club. You could argue Leicester have gone some way to jumping into the next bracket with ourselves, Villa, Palace, West Ham. Sunderland is a massively hard sell at present despite being in the division a while. The rumours are circulating re:money, they spend every year battling relegation, they have the same geographical challenge we do, they are seen as a bit of a laughing stock with bookies writing them off left right and centre - including their own sponsor. The fans lurch from incredulous to delighted. It doesn't make it reality but it is the perception.

I think we just have to accept where we are right now and hope for better. Palace are not a big club though, a top four club which is what he seems to be alluding to if correctly quoted. Is he not talking about Cabaye at PSG?

Just crap journalism trying to grab attention.

The second paragraph totally contradicts the first. He is talking about how the others all play for bigger clubs (clearly referencing this was before Cabaye's move) and then goes on to say that playing for a big four club isn't everything as that doesn't guarantee being picked, and also showing how other clubs can move up and grab headlines - referencing the point of what Palace are doing rather than saying they are one of the massive clubs.

    A nothing story.

Its all a press circle-jerk...taking a tightly selected phrase and jerking it off furiously.while counting the clicks on the website

In your view, what are you missing in order to gain more playing time for France?

Today, I look at those who are playing in position: there is Blaise who is doing extraordinary things at PSG, Paul, who is marvellous at Juventus, Yohan Cabaye, who has just signed for Crystal Palace and Morgan Schneiderlin who is now at Manchester United… Compared to me, they are all playing in big clubs.

Is playing for Newcastle affecting the extent of your rise with Les Bleus?

No it is not that. Be careful, I am happy at Newcastle, but it is not a Big Four club… And don’t forget that there are other midfielders who are playing at bigger clubs than mine and they are not being called up. It is up to me do to even more to push for a starting place.

    link to original translation: http://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2015/moussa-sissoko-i-know-that-deschamps-likes-me/

That said.. Thought it was a fair-ish interview ...The fact that he only produces a low level CL level performance once every 6 months (at best) seems to have escaped his attention, mind

It says they are having a lot more shots on goal, a very important requirement for a team whether you are willing to face up to it or not
