Also, if that Gypo **** says "character" in his after-match interview, I will find him and kick his ass.

I also want to know what input Driscoll and Gary Mac are having, as I doubt three intelligent football brains would have all agreed with that formation and game plan. So either they are stupid / spineless / clueless or getting ignored by a stubborn idiot who thinks he knows better..

Spot on and hence the frustration in my initial post. But my point is that time and again we press and win the ball, our first two or three passes open up space for our midfield and attacking players comfortably because the quality is there. Then this is where I agree with what you're both saying. Instead of taking advantage and running forward, playing the one/twos and looking for the through ball or pass forward of any kind, we dawdle, check back, allow the opposition to reorganise. I blame that on the manager not on the lack of quality in the team.

A fair reflection was said by one of the pundits. Liverpool were poor and it's hard to assess just how good United are because of that. IMO you were poor, but a better United manager would have used the quality in the attacks we were creating to finish that game off in the first half.

FFS who is/are the star player (s) we replaced Sterling with? Can we ever trust Rodgers to bring the right top players with any money that FSG make available ?

There is absolutely no point waiting for us to slide down the table to replace him now. Even one of the coaches or assistants cannot do worse. <ok>

but I would say the same about us too. another manager would, hopefully set the team up more balanced and not leave Benteke isolated up top. the Liverpool team was just not set up right.

For once, please just enjoy a win over these clowns. First half was poor, granted. It was largely down to two things, Liverpool's apparent refusal to even try to play (though we played our part in making them look awful) and our lack of a striker. At half time van Gaal identified a weakness and changed it. It had an instant impact. The second half was very enjoyable and van Gaal got everything right from that point. All his sub's were perfect for this game. Well timed too.

Agreed but I'm only looking at it as I saw the play today. I think it's safe to say on the balance of play we were the better team, but fck me we made it harder than it should have been. I saw the second half in the pub and a few of us were saying you rarely get to play Livpl looking so poor and yet we're giving you far too much respect plus the fact we don't have a fcking striker on the pitch <doh>

I genuinely think we have the making of a title challenging team/squad (not perfect - we need a proven striker and I'm not going to include Martial as he's nowhere near proving that) but we've got LVG having them play beneath themselves. That's what fcks me off. We're not average, but we're being made to look average by the guy in charge.

I hope the crowd lets the owners know their feelings at the next home game. They listened when Roy was there. Just wish I was there!

Anyone wanna come up with a decent one liner for a fly over banner!?!? <laugh>

I'm not going to carry this on, on a rival board. But it's safe to say that as I identified in the summer, we should have bought a proven striker. And that's without mentioning the genera quality of our football. This game isn't the be all and end all. Lets see what happens against PSV and Southampton away next week.

I would love Ancelotti tbh. The thing about Ancelotti is he'd take either squad and improve their football 10 fold (slight exaggeration) with a couple of additions. He's very good at working with what he has and just tweaking the squad. But I think Klopp would probably want a bit of an overhaul at Liverpool and I don't think that would be a good thing.

Another laughable performance today. And laughable is the right word to use because I'm long past the point where these sorts of defeats anger me now.

Another 3 goals conceded despite our defence appearing to be sorted and another lifeless attacking display. To be fair to the attack, it's designed to fail, whereas the defence is poor because of the personnel.

Playing A striker and a number 10 in wide positions is simply not going to work, and Benteke is simply isolated. Whilst all 3 were poor, they're not helped by this system so I can cut them some slack.

But yeah - this type of performance is becoming the norm now. It's on par with Hodgson. And as others have mentioned, I think the squad has talent but the manager is the single biggest problem. He has to go.

Notwithstanding the idea that Klopp would be a better bet, and the fact that it's not great to sack a manager mid-season, I can see Rodgers remaining until May. FSG don't have the balls to sack him 'cos if they had he would have gone in the summer. Not only are the players culpable, the manager, the tranny committee, but so are they.

    All ****ing useless.
