No new high profile striker on the horizon.

I think this means that Danny Welbeck is on his way back !!!!!

    Brilliant !!

Not having a go mate but just cos we haven't signed a recognised striker doesn't mean that Wellbeck will be coming back, i wish he would but i doubt that Fergie will allow it.

I'm personally hoping the welbeck loan deal is the back up option if we can't pull off THE MARQUEE signing. I think Wickham could do what Welbeck did for us last year if not more. We need an out and out forward and we should be looking to blow a huge fee on a quality proven one.

Agree, but would prefer a signing rather than a loan

I don't think welbeck is for sale. I reckon in just one season he doubled his fee say when he came to us his market value was 5m and he went back a 10m man, another years loan out and they same could happen and man u have a player valued at 20m to sell on or throw into the team.

According to SSN a few days back, Bolton are also looking at a loan deal for Wellbeck. They're in the northwest too, so it wouldn't be much of an uplift for him.

If Steve Bruce can not get Welbeck I doubt if Bolton will
