Wigan have rejected a bid from Aston Villa for star winger Charles N'Zogbia. The Midlands outfit reportedly offered £10million bid for the France international last week as new manager Alex McLeish aims to rebuild his depleted squad. The Villans are short of widemen after losing Ashley Young to Manchester United and Stewart Downing to Liverpool. But their sales mean McLeish does have cash to bring in new players. Wigan have rejected the initial bid for a player who is being chased by a host of Premier League clubs after some excellent displays last season. Everton are believed to be keen in rivalling Villa's offer, but the risk of a bidding war has reportedly scared off former club Newcastle and their North East rivals Sunderland. Black Cats boss Steve Bruce told The Journal: "[N'Zogbia] is not going to happen. It has become a bit too rich for us." The Latics' exact asking price for N'Zogbia is not clear, but chairman Dave Whelan would want a fee of more than £10 million.
Really you should be looking for better players than N'Zogbia. With Young and Downing gone, this is the ideal time for Villa to change the culture of the club.
£20m for Downing, replace him for half the price with N'Zogbia. Good bit of business for you in my opinion.

I think N'Zogbia could be class, downing certainly isn't £10.5 million better than him in my opinion.
