What overexitement? Is is overexitement to think that we won't go through the same crap as last year and be the bottom team for over half the season and might be mathematically safe from relegation sooner then later?

You do also realise that the person that believes that we will do any better then midtable is you.

If we are winning then yes drop Mahrez - I am a Leicester fan so I want the team to do well not indiviual players.

Also "win despite their manager" WTF are you on about? Vardy and Schlupp played like they were supposed to but they did it because they hate CR or something or is this your prejudices showing?
You are constantly the first person to criticize CR and have not said one positive thing about him or our team this season - the only positives you talk about is last season and only the last 9 game as well.

In all seriousness, if you weren't such a long term member of this board, I'd call you a WUM.

You asked me if he has introduced any positives to the team that, at the end of last season, played some breathtaking stuff and won seven out of nine matches. The team is virtually the same, and we're playing virtually the same way. We're only ever going to be able to emulate that form and not surpass it because we were that good. Ranieiri has done that for the most part, and that's all anyone COULD do. He hasn't come in and changed things completely, which would have been disastrous, although the few changes he has made have left us more susceptible to conceding goals. What exactly do you want me to add to that?

What major changes have you observed? How do you think he's improved upon the team that finished last season?

Are you the spokesperson for all fans now? Just because you don't fit in that category, in a comment that wasn't even addressed to you, don't assume everyone is the same.

Drop Mahrez because we are winning? Sorry, you've lost me there.

Not sure what you're warbling on about here but that was a general comment, not aimed at Ranieri. Even bad managers win games.

Why do people keep saying I say nothing positive about Raneiri - in threads in which I've said positive things about Ranieiri? <doh>

So people with different opinions to yourself are WUMs now? FFS.

In all honestly, I'm getting sick and tired of this. Have I entered a parallel dimension in which the Nazis won the war and uniform thinking is compulsory? I have a different opinion to some of you (and not all of you, I notice). Get over it.

[QUOTE="Lesta Gangsta, post: 8442791 Drinkwater has clearly developed well in the last year, and that sure as Hell didn't happen in the last two or three months.

I thought Drinky could barely get a game last season even when not injured ?
Do you think we should not have loaned out Konchesky ?
Simpson , was scouted & signed by " The Messiah " last. Season LG !

... had to laugh at the Nazi remark ... one of the hallmarks of a dictator is an unshakeable conviction in your own beliefs irrespective of what anyone else may believe...

Gangsta truly believes that his views are balanced...which, sadly, undermines any real credibility... he won't accept that he has an irrational dislike for anything that Ranieri does nor that he is still suffering from the shock of his personal hero's premature departure ... he is unable to come clean and just admit this so instead we get these very long rambling posts in justification of his position ...

..he has previously posted that he believes in giving credit where it is due ...I doubt there are many on here that think he does ... anything positive about Ranieri has been begrudgingly given at best ...

I have nothing personal against Gangsta - I enjoy. a good debate - it's why I participate on here - but he has been singularly lacking in good grace in regard to his reluctance to recognize what Ranieri has done in the game generally and for us so far ...

Sorry, Buzzard, but you can't deny that if Mahrez had played we would have won 4-0. He would have scored 2 and would have been back and heading their 'goal' away for a corner. And that's an indisputable FACT!<laugh>

Lots of articles this morning praising Ranieri's tactical nous... ranging from the Official club site to local Norwich press ... the latter stating that this is the first time this season that Alex Neil has so obviously lost a technical area battle ...

... very brave call to bench Riyad (personally I just love watching him, so was disappointed with the team. news) ... but it worked a treat ...and in fairness Riyad was pretty poor for most of the game against the Arse ..

... I think it is really positive that Ranieri is showing that he will make team selections on form and merit ..

I'm just loving watching us right now. .. thrilling football... great time to be aLeicester City fan tbf

Agree with you on Drinky. A lot of work as gone into this upperbody strength and his fitness over the last YEAR.
I think the contract we had with Konch, which seem in involve an extension based on performances, was a mistake - as I have always said.
Simpson has a good career up to now. He looked like a good signing at the time, but as the squad has evolved, he as ended up looking like the weakest link. But that's more of a compliment to the quality to the squad than an insult to Simpson.

Like your own anti-Pearson agenda, which you stuck with for YEARS despite the obvious good he was doing the club?

Sorry, but that is utter bollocks about me having an "irrational dislike" to Raneiri and seems to be you judging me by your standards. I am more than willing to change my mind on Ranieri because, unlike you with Pearson, I really want him to do well. But nothing was ever going to proven over the course of EIGHT games!

You say you have nothing personal against me and my "very long rambling posts" then write a very long and rambling personal post about me - which is about par for the course for you!

The media bends like a reed in the wind - as I said, if we'd lost yesterday, he'd have been classed as a buffoon for leaving Mahrez out. As we won, he's been praised as a tactical genius. As is usually the case though, the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

Id agree with this. The media will be berating Jose and poking at him until hes in the top 4 (which could be a while!).

Im sure that if we lost, we'd all be questioning him dropping Mahrez and changing the tactics, BUT the cold hard truth is we won a match AWAY against another team that had some form and haveto be considered a relegation rival.

Most of us agreed that we needed to lose to see the reaction and everythings coming up Leicester <ok>

We'll slowly slide down the league but its good to see us have a very positive start.

Pearson did not have more involvement. Typical Leicester - we looked at stats, but also the cheaper options ie players nearing the end of their contracts. Obviously, the manager will be kept informed of who the option is and any updates, but it was the same for Pearson as it is for Ranieri. I agree that the best approach for a new manager is not to change too much when the side find a winning formula - it is imperative to maintain that kind of mindset. As such, he has not changed too much. What he has changed is the formation, and given a friendly and more professional face to the club.
If Pearson had a similar image to CR - he would still be at the club.

......Yes I remember calling for his head throughout the winless streak last season... only I didn't did I? .. not once ..in fact I consistently advocated sticking with him ...and gave him and the team deserved credit when things turned around... my 'anti-Pearson' campaign was a bit **** tbf ... credit to you mind, your anti Ranieri one is a real corker ...and our board is now full of Nazis because a few of them have taken you to task on it?

...time to get a grip fella..

Well no.... that is NOT fact.... It's hypothetical. Talk is cheap after the event. We can all be good managers once the horse has bolted
Ranieri made some bold changes and we won. 3 points in the bag.
    JOB DONE

The main differences between last season and this are last season we had NP and Cambiasso who both were major reasons we went on the run we did.

NP was a really driven person and he molded the team into his own image - with him gone, all of us were frankly terrified that we would lose that never say die attitude that we had but we haven't - and in fact we seem to be playing much more confidently (although that could be more to do with us not being bottom with a limited number of games remaining).

Cambiasso who was at the centre of everything good we did and as we don't have him any more and have had to play differently - how many times last season were we under the cosh only for Cambiasso calm things down and ping a long ball to Ulloa for us to attack? Now we are running with the ball more and playing the ball into space for the likes of Vardy to run on to and attacking with pace and purpose and I've got to say I enjoy watching this way more then last season.

Drinkwater, Mahrez and Vardy have improved massively - Drinkwater was 3rd choice last season, Mahrez was a sub and Vardy spent more time offside then doing anything productive. I would give some credit way we play now and to the new formation as although it is similar to last season, it definitely suits them more.

Overall is it better and have we improved? Defensively not as we are much more suspect but attacking we have which has countered it. I have stated before that I do not care if we concede in every game if we stay up and that still stands - 15 points from 24 is an excellent return, especially considering they came from the teams that we think will be around us at the end of the season.

I am not deluded to think that our current run is solely due to CR and there is no effect from last season but all of the crap that has happened with NP departure could have really distabilised the club but has not and I give props to CR for that.

Hopefully we will carry on and reach our goal and if this is the worst we play this season, the future is looking good.
