I have a very strong fancy for SONG OF PARADISE 13/2 Kempton 3.10 tomorrow. Missed the break last time but looked well handicapped and the step back up to six furlongs will suit this one to a T.
I agree that could be a good bet Stick as I have the race between Song of Paradise and Pisom as both have form with Fruit Salad who looked decent when seeing off another very well backed horse at Kempton after losing to Prisom. Although SOP was third that day as you mention it broke poorly and did it's best work late on, so 6f looks ideal. What Prisom has going for her however is that she actually beat Fruit Salad over 6f. I take the view however that Fruit Salad stays 5f better than 6f so was a better horse at Kempton, add to that SOP needing the extra furlong and I think she will win. It will be close between them however. Although I cant stand the place there looks to be a couple of decent looking horses at Southwell tomorrow also. 2.30 Cross fire 3-1 3.30 Saved my Bacon 6-1
2.10 Kempton. RED DRAGON 10-1. First run in a year 2 weeks ago (at Kempton) and a good third having not had the clearest of runs but finished well. Should come on a bundle. Trainer and jockeys only run. Sweeney does pop up now and again with a decent priced winner. However going on big each way. Should run well.
At Newbury Stick and I overheard Paul nichols tell the owner when Harry ran (we were in the saddling box next door) that Warriors Tale was overweight, wasn't in peak condition, would need the run and he would improve a lot for it. He very nearly won and was very gutsy so I've lumped on at evens, catterick 1.15
Morning, pilgrims. Nothing for me today but Mr Henderson has once again doubly declared Sign Of A Victory on Saturday. He’s in the £150k Ladbroke Hurdle and a £19k handicap, on the level, at Lingers Park. Given an initial perch of 87 (which was pretty much what I expected and appears fair) for the Flat I’d be keen if the forum’s favourite trainer once again opted for the ‘all weather’ at the weekend. Good luck, troops.
BE DARING 5/1 3.20 Catterick. I was expecting 7/4. Think this horse will become a very useful chaser one day but if he does blossom and improve again when jumping a hurdle, I've taken the 330/1 on Betfair for the Supreme
I'd be amazed with a capital A if he doesn't opt for the all weather and equally amazed if he doesn't win comfortably off that perch
ooops That Nicky Richards chaser HESTER FLEMEN looked pretty decent there. Bowled along in front, jumped for fun and never looked like being headed. One to follow as likely to run up a sequence in the North. SHYPEN running at Kempton today......did I tip that the last day when it was gambled but pulled before the off???? (early onset)
Just had a look at the next at Kempton, had a dabble on Lady Canford @ 4/1 ran a good second last time out and the form ties in well with Miss Pimpernel who was raised 6lb for winning a race that has worked out well LTO. I just think at the weights Lady Canford is a solid bet
Stick/Bluesky: SOP may have been well handicapped last time, but certainly not today. She was up a brutal 24 lb for finishing third (admittedly eyecatching), and now she's run well again, still without winning, which will just confirm the handicapper in his view that he was about right to put her up to 69. Unless Chris Wall has a plan so cunning that I can't understand one side of it, I'd say he's made a right horlicks of this.
