Why not, I firmly believe dropping down to Division 1 may very well do QPR more good than harm in the long run. While we are in this league we have the constant hope and belief that a good run will get us into the play offs and as we all know getting to Wembley anything is possible? Obviously as each game ticks by and more points are dropped like needles from a dead Christmas tree those faint glimmers of hope to reach the play offs slowly disappear but like a large percentage of fans we know getting promoted will only spell disaster again, this is why I think actually dropping another division will truly allow the owners to reevaluate the club and realise that the club is in such a bad way that 'we' really do need to start again, none of this 'promotion' is the most important thing to the club and move agendas on what the club has previously said. Being as low as you can go means there's only one place to go and that's up. Being in the Championship makes us feel in touching distant of the golden chalice of the premier league , well all that does is 'break our hearts' the money thrown down the drain by this club is staggering and where has it got us? Nowhere , we are basically in the same division as we have pretty much spent most of the last 20 odd years. We need to give JFH 3 years to nature this club and get us focused in the right way not sacking him if the season ends poorly and next season doesn't start so well, it's about time the club makes a stance and backs the manager for as long as it takes and maybe just maybe in 3years time we will be good enough to enter the premiership again and stay there for a good few season.

With respect ... Do you think that any club in the Premiership wish for the same pro-rata as you or do you think they might all hope to stay up however miraculous?

Why not?- Oh yeah, getting relegated will really help us- loss of money, loss of investment, loss of interest from owners, final nail in the coffin for a new stadium, lack of ability to attract decent players, a wage bill we won't be able to pay under FFP, players who will be even less interested playing for us, fans up in arms throwing abuse at the club, the list is pretty much endless!

Problem is, if we were to go down, we don't have the management / owners, with enough nouse to getup back up.
You only have to look at what has happen this season.

No way I remember the last time we were in that division and the club almost went out of business, yes I remember some good times however I put that mostly down to euphoric recall.

Purely from an entertainment perspective, I really don't want to watch league 1 football again. It is really poor, and as an ex-pat, I'd hardly see any games as TV coverage is next to nothing. I appreciate the theory that you need to go down to start again afresh, and build from scratch. However, it is equally likely that you go down, and just keep on going down...the current bottom 4 in league 1, have all been in the Championship or even Premiership in recent memory (Blackpool, Oldham, Colchester and Crewe). None of those teams look likely to return to the Championship any time soon. Look further down, to league 2, and teams like Portsmouth and Plymouth show how the slide can not easily be halted.

Relegation in the hope of a magnificent return is just too risky. I'd rather we steady the ship in the Championship for a few years, put up with boring mid table, or even lower mid table finishes, and build from there.

What a pathetic OP. As if any real QPR fan would want us to get relegated! We really have some questionable fans.

I don't think he really does. I think it's more a question of desperation, which can all relate to, at the moment.
I posted an earlier thread about embracing a relegation fight but that is all I meant. Embrace it but let's not kid ourselves that relegation would be good.
Imagine if tomorrow night's game was away at Carlisle or Hartlepool. 2nd thoughts ,let's not.

I think we should file for Bankruptcy, close up shop and build an Apple Store on the ground.

Was going to write a heap of stuff but can't be bothered - a ridiculous thread. It reminds me of when people say "what we need is a good war to sort out the country's problems"

    Hmm
    A good war you say
Which of our players would you want next to you in the trenches
Would you want green there throwing the granades
How about Henry trying to repel counter attacks

Lets go the whole hog, enter administration we can play the throw money in a bucket game we loved so much, i wonder about the type of supporter we have inherited sometimes, any true supporter wouldnt wish relegation on the club they say they support

what will do QPR more good is (1) players playing for the shirt - wear it with pride and fighting for each other, (2) concentrating - the game lasts for 90 minutes plus injury time - do no switch off, (3) the fans that pay your wages would love to be good enough to play for the team and we would have worn the short with pride.

Stirring the pot....... if anything, we're where we are at the level we're meant to be. In other words, our quick tastes of the Prem in the recent years after the Italian Mafia left, gave us a false sense of aggrandizement. All of our expectations are too damned high, we still have a very small stadium that only holds 17,000 including the boxes FFS, as I have been saying this whole time - IN NEED OF A BIGGER STADIUM, a new, gleaming, ALL MOD CONS stadium that is at least 30,000 that can stand to be in the Prem or any top tier league in the world.
As of now we're still a small club. We are what we are, currently. It's hard to compete on the global level of the so-called top-4 type teams.
I'd hate for us to go down, that would be hard. We would struggle to get back up again. We need to put up a fight to stay or go up, and in the meantime figure out a way to get a new, bigger home.
