It is considered to be one of the biggest rivalries in the world football along with the Superclásico in South America, El Clásico in Spain, and Derby della Madonnina in Italy, and is considered the most famous fixture in British football with the Old Firm. Players, fans and the media alike often consider games between the two clubs to be their biggest rivalry, above even their own local derby competitions with Everton and Manchester City. The rivalry has been fuelled by the regional proximity of the two major cities that they represent, their historic economic and industrial rivalry, significant periods of domestic footballing dominance and European success, and their popularity at home and abroad where they are two of the biggest-earning and widely supported football clubs in the world. The two clubs are the most successful English teams in both domestic and European competitions; and between them they have won 38 league titles. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Total Head to Head v Manchester United Liverpool wins - 64 Man Utd wins - 78 Draws - 51 http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/...6/epl.match-preview.html/liverpool-vs-man-utd
Jinxed us Greez has been doing the match day threads the last three or four games and we haven't lost yet #bringbackgreez #bringbackchris
Poll options are a little, erm...limited! where's the weird random answer too? You didn't even get the thread title in the right format
Oh so there's a format? FFS! It's not like our match threads are that influential we haven't won anything for years. Poll options are there to reflect what is required.
Technically, there isn't a set format, there is just my preference Why the **** does it need to say Liverpool? We're obviously playing with it being a match thread on our board
I have to say this one is going to be interesting I can see utd setting up tactically to use martial pace against us. I just feel they can analyse, graph and produce stats to show how can and lallana are ball hogs and firmino can shoot. I would expect in reality to see exactly the same line up as we saw v arsenal. I know allen came on but i don't see a reason to change it. I think lovern might be back but what does lfc do? take out toure for lovern or caulker or leave all as is? Remember we have the FA cup replay right after this one. I'd expect to see us play: munge clyne toure sahko moreno Henderson can milner Ibe firmino lallana this provided us with some balance. milner was at times lw in a 442 early on v arsenal. I can see us then swapping the team a lot for exeter Ward Randall Caulker Lovern? Smith Brannagan Allen Lucas Ojo Benteke Teixteria I think that'd be fair enough no? We will need to use the squad well. we go to norwich away next weekend and we will need to win there for sure.... thus i feel we have enough about to try and get by in the FA cup and can then be more ready for the next game This is especially so as League cup semi then comes up directly after the norwich game... followed by Leicester away It is only then that we get a week off type of thing. It will be interesting to find when certain players actually get off treatment tables, and get back... origi, lovern are two who should be soon. Rossiter looks to have missed his chance i think and will go play u21... flanagan prob won't play a part and then theres the whole sturrdige stuff. Coutinho and skertl are the two main longe rinjuries. Have we heard any more on origi?
I'd actually bring in Allen for Ibe and push Milner to the wide right. Allen Can and Henderson would be brilliant on the second phase press. Hopefully Lovern is fit and can slot in at RCB
any actual word on him.. I think origi picked up an extra injury so won't be back soon but we need to hear o nthis stuff. has sturridge been twitting.....I think theres not been a peep out of him since his i'm fit muck on boxing day. I think he's been told. There has to be a question on it in next press conferences.
Studge twittered in December about being back (whilst congratulating the team on a win) but Klopp said he had to train after that I think.
