After the excitement of last Saturday's away win, there is a new level of anticipation for the televised lunchtime game against Wolves, plus the "hope" of first home win for JFH. I have pondered on the JFH's potential team selection for the match and believe there should be a large temptation to play the same winning team. However, I personally would play Faurlin who was probably "rested" for the last game and go for the following: -------------------- Smithies ----------------------- Perch --- Onuoha ---- Hall ---- Konchesky - ---------- Sandro ---------- Faurlin -------------- Phillips ------------ Fer -------------- Hoillet --- --------------------- Polter ------------------------- My only dilemma was who should partner Ale and went for Sandro. However, I would not be surprised if we saw Henry. For the striker, I would definitely play Polter as he does not deserve to be dropped. But I would introduce Conor Washington after around 60 minutes. It will be interesting to see what JFH will do and if he may surprise us, say play 4-4-2 with Washington partnering Polter. We shall see.
-------------------- Smithies ----------------------- Perch --- Onuoha ---- Hall ---- Konchesky - -Henry-------Luongo ---------- Faurlin - -------- Hoillet --- -----Washington---Polter -------------------------
Beth - I like the formation and the team, and it would be interesting to see. But I really dislike the idea of breaking up a "winning team". If something like this would be the objective, I personally would phase the players and formation in on the basis of "winning your place in the team". It is a tough call, which should it go wrong will be very easy to criticise either way.
If Henry starts I think I’ll cry Be great to see Luongo alongside Faurlin. Two players who can do both sides of the game would give us a good chance of getting hold of and dictating the game and having lots of possession. If not Luongo then Sandro alongside Faurlin If Washington is the future be tempted to play him off Polter and drop Fer
Has everybody forget that we have a assett name Tjaron Chery in our club. However he does not appear in our team anymore unless he is used occasionally as a second half sub.....so my midfield would be Luongo-Chery-Faurlin-Hoillett
It's a strange one, can't just be injuries and he showed he has talent. Might be on my own but don't think Koch has been all that bad, but when Yun is ours and not a loan and looks decent I don't understand why he has barely had a sniff this season
Beth, is that with Henry on the right? -----------Smithies-------- Henry--onuoha--Hall--Yun -----------Faurlin---------- Phillips----Luongo--Hoilett ----Polter--Washington---- Not a big fan of 4-4-2, but it may be worth a go as we're at home.
I suppose it depends if Phillips is on his way out, if so... -------------------- Smithies ----------------------- Perch --- Onuoha ---- Hall ---- Konchesky - -------------Luongo ---------- Faurlin --------- -----Petrasso-------Fer----------Hoilett----- --------------------Polter ------------------------- Though wouldn't be surprised if Henry plays
No idea, but it will be interesting to see if he starts with 2 up front given that Polter is delivering and the new bloke is a Jimmy pick. You have to have a sensational midfield to get away with 4-4-2 against decent teams, but we might get away with it in the Championship.
