RvW's 2 goals in the Spanish Cup game last month came with him playing in a loan striker position. I say give him a go.
With RVW as a lone striker? Probably not and as AN does not seem to want to start with a 4-4-2, it's not likely to happen. As part of a 4-4-2 along side Dave, then I would like to see how that could work out
Bruno Martella name mentioned. Another Left Wing back. Look's like we are trying hard to replace Olsson
Is he necessarily 'better' than Olsson though? He sounds like another fullback who is better going forward than defending, and I thought we had enough of those and that that was the main problem with Olsson?
Mulumbu to Bologna on loan now being muted - judging by his lack of first team appearances AN probably prefers Dorrans when Tettey is unavailable so clearly Mulumbu's chances of a regular run in the team are limited.
Re the van Wolfy recall rumour: "According to reports from AS, it has been claimed that Norwich manager Alex Neil is considering recalling van Wolfswinkel from his loan spell at Betis before the end of the transfer window as he looks to beef up his attacking options which has been decimated by the departures of Lewis Grabban and Gary Hooper." Two points, 1) Wolfy couldn'y 'beef up' a packet of Bovril crisps, and 2) If Grabs and Hoops never played, how could we be 'decimated' by their departures? http://www.laligablog.com/2016/01/28/norwich-city-reach-agreement-with-spanish-side-for-striker/?
Err.... surely, by selling Hooper and Grabban, it was our choice to "decimate" our attacking options ? Is it me ?
Bloody hell, didn't the Liverpool game prove that Dorrans is still rubbish since his bright start to the season!? If Mulumbu leaves then we need a new DCM for when Tetty is suspended or his knee gives up. The list of players we need is growing as deadline day nears, not shortening. That's worrying.
Norwich mentioned in CaughtOffsides "7 transfers odds on to happen before the deadline". With Patrick Bamford the player mentioned. http://www.caughtoffside.com/2016/0...adline-arsenal-chelsea-backed-to-do-business/ Odds 4/7
I always thought Oviedo was a defensive FB? With Baines being their attacking one. I could be completely wrong on that.
Another LB being mentioned. Davide Santon. Ex-Newcastle player now at Inter. Still only 25, very decent player.
Also saw Swansea bid 7.5m for Gayle. Don't know any truth in that, but that player might soon be one to stop linking us to.
Hmm... hasn't he been playing at RB for Inter (although, yes, he can play either RB or LB)? I do know that he's not featured particularly heavily for them this season. I'm not convinced he'd be a significant upgrade to be honest.
I thought Santon was a RB? And he's another who I'm sure I remember being dreadful defensively but great going forward. Bit of a theme...
You are never certain that buying someone new is going to work better than a player you have - take RVW for example, any transfer is a risk. I guess the point is that AN clearly doesn't rate Martin Olsson - otherwise Brady wouldn't be playing there now and we wouldn't appear to be looking at other options. I don't necessarily disagree with your views re Olsson and I think he is capable defensively but again hasn't seemed in great form this season.
