It's also worthy of note that as he was given the opportunity with Huddersfield, he's suddenly found the ability to shed all his excess weight!
Maybe they haven't got a Nando's nearby!!! Seriously though Dave, I agree he did always seem to be lardy in a NCFC shirt and that must have hampered his performances. I'd love to see Wednesday go up and for him to prove what he can do in the PL!!!!
How much has Jerome offered this season in all honesty? Just cannot believe we sold Hooper at a loss, three million quid for a proven striker at this level is unbelievable business from them, they've mugged us right off, just one of many cock ups we've made this season
What's the betting - if he was still here, of course, that Hooper and Bamford could have forged a season-saving partnership
I was telling anyone who would listen that Jerome was not the answer at PL level. He couldn't get into the Stoke team. I'm realising that we haven't strengthened enough in the summer and the lessons from last season haven't been learned. The fact that Martin has been our first choice CB for a good part of the season demonstrates this. It's too late now, we have to hope that a miracle happens and we can turn it around. I've been following city long enough to know that this is unlikely but I've not given up hope. It's all we have at the end of the day. If we do go down there should be some tough questions asked of this season though.
Well K E M P - i think you're pretty accurate with your assessment of where things have gone wrong this season - especially after our efforts of last season and the euphoria of winning promotion via the play offs. Yes, we needed a more prolific striker than Jerome - how would we have fared had Mbokani not been injured early in the season?? Also, as you rightly state that to have RM as first choice RB for a large part of the season really says how much we value keeping it tight in defence - you only have to look at our 'Goals Against' to bear witness to this. If as seems most likely and we suffer the fate of relegation, then I have 2 wishes - 1. AN stays on as manager 2. We MUST massively improve our defence - it has been our 'achilles heel' since our dark days of league 1!!!!
Thoughts on the new Premier League logo for next season? I quite like the version in the blue square even if the font is a bit childish. Others are a bit naff IMHO. please log in to view this image http://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/feb/09/premier-league-logo-new-design
So, looks like Colin is to be the new manager at Rotherham - http://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/feb/10/neil-warnock-rotherham-manager-on-course!!!
West Ham apparently have quite a number of players who may be unavailable for Saturday through injury. Here's hoping that'll do us a favour.
Meat. Bones. Based on recent performances, they could put the under 18 eleven out and still give us a contest http://www.london24.com/sport/footb..._six_men_ruled_out_of_norwich_clash_1_4414568
Yeah. I'm not overly hopeful that the missing players will be too much of a problem for them. Then again, Reid and Kouyaté have been key players for them recently.
Winston Reid IMO is absolutely brilliant. Surprised a bigger club haven't looked at him - I know some people think he's a bit of a donkey, but every time I have seen him play he has been dominant, disciplined and shown great communication. Faster than he looks and better on the ball than he's given credit for. He is the sort of CB we desperately need. It is good news that he is out from our POV. Just like the fact they had to play 120 mins on Tuesday. But unfortunately, it probably isn't going to be enough for our demoralised squad - we need to dig deep.
They sacked him on the very day he pleaded guilty, they couldnt before because in England we're innocent until proven guilty. I think Sunderland should be applauded for their swift action!
Very true Dave and he should never be employed within the game again although you can bet someone will take him on eventually.
