Anyone remember that famous scene at the end of the Wizard of Oz, when Dorothy [Judy Garland] pulls back the curtain expecting to see the wizard, only to see a desperate and baffled old man frantically pulling at levers, with nothing happening <cheers>

That "wizard" increasingly reminds me of hapless Jose Riga, now resorting to trying anything to get a response out of these players. The writing was on the wall that Riga Mk2 is going to end badly [for us] some weeks ago. He had a full week of training to prepare for two must win home fixtures against two very average sides - Bristol City and Cardiff. We needed at least 4 points from those two fixtures, and equally as importantly, to see a dynamic, motivated and well drilled team. Instead we were treated to two 90 mins of complete rubbish, with horrible slow football, and a complete lack of shots, never mind goals. You cannot wait until the 40th min of a home game in our position before you have your first shot FFS !

For me, the alarm bells regarding Riga really started to ring loudly at Fulham last Saturday, when he replaced by far our best player - Ba, and moved a full back with dodgy knees [Solly] into centre midfield to replace him. Another example of frantic lever pulling. And Harriot, who everyone knows is just about the worst natural finisher at the Club, playing up front alongside the sh1te Albino. Riga has lost the plot.

And at Preston last night Riga goes back to paceless, useless Roger Johnson is a weird format based on defending counter attacks at pace !

Riga has now won 2 of his last 22 matches. Yes, he is better than Luzon, than Peeters and than Fraeye, but it becomes ever more obvious by the day he is NOT up to the job.

Not that it matters but I'd would say Peeters and Luzon are better than Riga to be honest BUT all just puppets of the inept regime

Spot on, Riga is floundering, that is clear now after he sprung a new formation on the team at short notice. His statement recently that Charlton stayed up last time because of his positivity seemed egotistical, contrary to the image he usually projects. As Vol said when he was appointed, he is Roland's last throw of the dice, another Belgian from the network would unleash a tsunami of fury from the customers. If Roland sacks Riga it will be in the summer, maybe in the middle of the Euro's (a good time to bury bad news), otherwise we'll start next season with Riga.

I ain't no football genius, but sober even I could have kept the team up that season; what was it 3 points from safety, 5 games in hand and quite decent set of players.

It seems like everyone knew this was eventually going to happened under these twats, except the twats; what the ****?

Yann Kermorgant has slammed RD as "deluded" and is upset on what he's done to the club. I call even more bullshit on Miere as he openly stated that he wanted to stay.

Obvious that they didn't want him there

I am hoping that Yann scores on Saturday, as I think a goal from him could be a catalyst for protests & disorder.

as we're already down, i think i would actually cheer a yann goal as a sort of protest.

the next protest has to be complete abandonment of anything charlton related. dont give them another penny.

Particularly if it is the first.

Hopefully he'd go towards the directors box and point to squirrel face showing it the Covered End.

I'm also really hoping Yann scores at least one goal. He'll get a huge cheer from the whole Valley. We can even teach the Reading fans the Yann songs.

My only regret about missing tomorrow's game is I won't get to cheer when Yann returns, have missed all the games when he returns to the Valley ><

If he scores, especially in front of the covered end, I can see a pitch invasion (not to hurt him), but to absolutely destroy KM and RM.

Very proud to say that I was among those in the Covered End last night who started the "You Don't Know What You're Doing" Chant against Riga.

****ing clown. ****ing pathetic selection and tactics.

    1. Sanogo our best striker in recent games - dropped.

    2. Replaced by Makienok, so effectively playing with ten men in must win game

    3. Harriott best of a bad bunch up front - subbed

    4. Lookman brought on with 8 mins to go and creates havoc in MK Dons defence

    5. Makienok left on when the whole crowd could see he had 'gone' by half time.

Worst of all- the boring, negative sideways football, the statuesque players, the lack of pace and nous, and the ONE SHOT ON TARGET AT HOME TO A PILE OF **** SIDE.

Even worse than that, Riga clearly under orders to protect Lookman as he is being sold very soon.

Riga- you are a clown and a stooge mate. **** off.

It seems increasingly obvious to me that 1. Riga got lucky last time and 2. He is yet another RD stooge, as witnessed by the way he is protecting Lookman from injury.

3 wins from his last 26 matches in the Championship <doh>

Contrast that to Rotherham and Neil Warnock - like him or loathe him, he has just guided them to back to back wins against two sides in the top 6, and with two clean sheets. Rotherham's owner was serious about staying up, so hired Warnock. Charlton's owner was serious about lining his pockets and cutting costs this summer, so hired Riga.

I am so angry about what has happened to the Club it is hard to know where to begin.

Riga inherited a far better side last time. Morrison- see Fanni/Lennon/Tex. 2 years younger Jacko- see Bergdich. Yann- see Mak
Brainless after Harriott and Sanogo linking up well on Saturday and their confidence blossoming together that Sanogo was dropped and then Sanogo comes on for him. On what evidence did he think Mak and Sanogo would be a good partnership?!

I'm thinking about our 'escape' under Riga last time now and it becomes quite clear we stayed up by complete accident - is it even stretching it to suggest he lost his job because he kept us up - I mean if Sordell choses to have a worldy performance out of nowhere at Bolton there's not much any stooge can do about it!? Once upon a time I would have dismissed that as conspiracy piffle but the crazed bond villain theory is the only explanation for this willful destruction of our club - it is so far beyond simple incompetence. Yann's treatment has been discussed elsewhere but only reinforces this theory. Has to be on the pitch and get the game cancelled against Boro...

Yes, he inherited what was left of Chris Powell's side, but more importantly, he inherited Damian Matthew.

I imagine Sorrdells improvement in form was brought on by the fact Premiership bound Burnley were showing interest too.
