Morning all from a cold St. Helier. On my phone for a few days while my laptop is being looked at by a company here to try and clear possible damage done by someone claiming to be sorting issues that I didn't know I had. Luckily, while the technician was working on it, youngest got out of bed, knew what was happening, turned the Internet off so they couldn't finish, and deleted what he could see they had done, I then went to the bank to stop the payment I made to them for 5 years "protection" - as it was showing as pending, they can't stop it but they are going to refund me and issue me with a new debit card. Even though I've worked in finance for nearly 20 years, I got sucked in because I wasn't fully awake and not that tech savvy. Luckily, it looks like I've got away with minimal damage thanks to my son and banking with just about the only bank open on Saturday mornings here.
Hi Barry, As I've offered before, throw any IT questions you have to me, that's a well-known scam where they attempt to get access to your computer by scaring you into believing your PC is infected. I work in IT and I'd be more than happy to answer any questions (most of) my fellow Hornets have, just drop me a PM!
Good morning all from a bright sunny rural France. Looks as if there was a light frost overnight, but although the shops are full of bedding plants no one around here has put any outside yet. I suspect that quite a lot of money is made from people who do plant out, but then have to replace them because a late frost catches them.
Morning all from a bright and sunny West West London - bit of a frost on the car this morning, hopefully the last! Weather for Easter break does not look good, but have a load of stuff to do indoors and need to start packing as we are off to the US next week for a short holiday.
Beautiful sunny spring today. Mrs H and I just back from a walk round our local lanes. Tea and fruit cake being served...
Good evening one and all. Family problems having eased slightly, I thought I'd pop back in now and again. So, who's going to Wembley and where are they sitting?
Welcome back BB - hope all is well with the family. We are trying to get into the lower tier, hopefully in the "singing section", but if not as close as possible. I do not want the repeat of the play-off final and sitting in front of some miserable scrot who moaned every time one of us stood up.
Thanks w_y. My son is probably 'operating' at around 60% now - it's been a hard to take period that we'd rather not repeat, but at least he's on the mend. I know the tickets don't go on sale until tomorrow, but I've been lucky enough to score one already - just behind the singing section. Flights already paid for - can't wait...
