    Etherington and Pennant!

Just sat having a bite and a cuppa. Hey bloody ho the ticker across the bottom screen said something along the lines of...

Stoke are hoping to have Pennant fit for Thursday's game and we (Stoke) expect Etherington to play!

Now where is our plan B?

I think Rory is still plan B. . . Unless we sign someone tomorrow morning!

I'm not sure where my mate heard it, but he said apparently Pennant took a bit of a knock early on in the match against Aldershot (I think it was that one) and they bought him off in the first half as a precaution, and he's likely to play tomorrow.

We've been linked with Wright-Phillips a couple of times I think but I imagine his wages would be a massive stumbling block, he must be on £60k-£70k a week.

Standard procedure for no wingers is usually Delap on the right and Wilson or Pugh on the left isn't it?

How about 30k a week and a crash course in how to cross a ball?

I was just thinking about starting a new thread about the team for tomorrow - no need - it will have to be the fittest available 11 and TP is bound to pick Rory.

And thats my point! Rory will always be in the team regardless of who is fit and who is in form!

Everyone has complained about Rory pre-season and I'm going to step-in here.

Rory is no great player, granted. He isn't the quickest or the best at passing. But he is good at what he does - which is stand in the middle and defend. Ok, he does get deployed on the wing and we all want to cry but our best team in the three seasons we have been in the prem has contained Delap in the middle. I'll admit, I'd love it if we signed Sissoko as our defensive midfielder and then someone more attacking, i.e. Barton/Parker to join him, but if that's not possible then having Whelan and Delap is good enough and has been good enough for me. Yes I want to improve, but if people are wanting stupid wages they don't deserve then why should TP and PC change their ideology for them. Yes I want talent, but not at the cost of the football club.

Off topic a bit: L, is your name based off of L from Death Note?

On topic: If Wilson is as good pushed up forward on the wing as he is at full-back, then we haven't got too much of a problem there, it's the thought of Delap on the right that worries me!

That wasn't intended as a dig a Rory Delap. Just pointing out that we or, Mr P doesn't seem to know it. If he did, surly he would have signed someone/anyone before now.
To date he's not done so, but that's another topic which I commented on earlier.

    Morning Nick
Not sure I've heard of Death note myself.
Maybe they are some kind of "The end is nigh cult"
    <yikes>

Have a nice day all, the sun is shining, Mr P is on the lookout for players and we have a game to look forward to tonight.

Everything is Hunky dory isn't it! <doh>

Forgot too add this sorry but,
I was up at around 6am this morning and I trapped my finger in the bathroom door.
Question for you all out there. WHY did it hurt like hell, when you can pinch the skin on your elbows as hard as you like. yep I've tried it.

And it doesn't hurt one bit.

Well at least it's more exciting than listening to SS News
Sergio Aguero only 40 Million Euros. And, 200K a week!

Has the world gone totally insane or is it me, don't say anything Nick. <laugh>

    Just done some research Nick

Death note was orignally a series/volume of books written in Japan. This guy hires a detective and the detectives name is erm

"L" The U.S. got a hold of it and it's also a video game.

L Is it okay if we all call you Columbo or Kojak anything but L <ok>
    Who loves ya baby!

Dit Dah Dit Dit - morse code for L!!!

    Shylock - a Jewish Sherlock!!!

Jonathan Creek - cos Pulis is up it sans paddle

Nope - it's got to be Miss Marples

I'm guessing that you don't do this for a living as that was the worst bit of research I have ever seen.

Not that anyone is the slightest bit interested, obviously the primary motive here was to discover the origins of my username in order to try and manufacture a collection of "witty" put downs.
