Arsenal are getting too much time and space. We are not tracking them back quickly enough. Makes you wonder why Arsenal have been on such a bad run.
It isn't much fun on the pitch but the mood in the Watford end is OK and we're all still having a good time
Work up late and we´ve got hammered. Think I was confused with time difference too, seems England is 7 hours ahead...have the clocks already gone forward there? They go forward here tonight. Anyways, more importantly this wasn´t the performance needed. We are on the slide in the league. We can´t go down, an we? Need points from somewhere to regain positivity....
Not a lot to say about that - totally outclassed by a rampant Gunners side. Watson was a liability, Capoue, Abdi and Suarez weren't that much better, which sort of highlights where the problem lies - they were simply overrun. Passes going astray, no movement to receive passes.... AG at least gave them something to think about when he came on & probably should have been on earlier - like from the start. Think I'll stop there and forget today.
Not at all happy with that. Far too easy for Arsenal - we had a better spell in the second half but Arsenal were 3-0 up and coasting. Wrong decision making from us all afternoon - played it long when we should have gone short and short when we should have gone long. QSF is not getting the best out of this squad and needs to turn 2016 around. No more 'In QSF we trust' posts please.
On a brighter note, Newcastle & Villa both lost and Sunderland could only draw. None of them have winnable next games either - which is just as well.
So long there are 3 worse teams, we´ll be ok, coz sinking like a stone in water at the moment. People laughed when I said I´d still take 17th......
I know the cliché is to take one game at a time but he needs to point out that if any of them want to play at Wembley, they have 3 games to show him why they should be involved in that match.
Not sure how much we can take from that performance. Arsenal were sharp and up for it. We looked a bit flat, which is worrying since a fair few have just had two weeks off, but better in second half. We need more energy and more pace. All three subs should start next game.
Not a great performance, Arsenal in full control. Still, I had a good day and a good stroll around my north London haunts which I left for pastures new 9 years ago, and had my first visit to the Emirates. A strange place really, impressive in size etc but atmosphere very odd. No real singing and they don't appear to have a singing section. Just lots of clapping especially at substitutions! I can definitely see what they mean by a corporate bowl and just made me come away feeling glad I support a smaller club which I can feel much more association to. PLEASE can we reach 40 points against Everton next week?!
If you pick and set up a team to lose by as few as possible as QSF did then we got what we deserved. Nothing.
I think we're safe from relegation. When Arsenal play like that there's few who can stop them, I believe. AG impressed a bit, but they had a number of top class players playing well. It doesn't mean we are s***. It just means they were better. I can live with that. I wasn't thinking in August that we would be as good as Arsenal, particularly towards the end of the season (let alone end their impressive FA Cup run). In terms of playing short when we should have gone long, I bow to those who went, but I thought we tried to play out of pressure using ball retention, rather than hoofing and setting up the next attack. That takes quite a degree of composure against a side as good as that. I thought we lacked commitment of numbers when we did break eg Amrabat's shot from the right goalline, no bugger for him to set up so he had to take unlikely shot. There were several examples. But I saw Deeney with a grin on his face a couple of times when he'd been sold by clever movement. That's great. He was learning and enjoying that. I want them to enjoy their football, learn, want to play for Watford because it's rewarding, they have a chance and the support to develop. I'm not decrying my friends above, I must add. Perhaps I look for a positive spin sometimes. Nor do I want any of you to think that any of you can out-'miserable sod' me. I just accept Arsenal were excellent (they've found some exciting new talent), I enjoyed watching some of their play, but finally... "We're the famous Watford FC And we're going to Wem-ber-ley!"
Trouble is they got their early goal... and again in the 2nd half giving us no foothold in the game. We do have a negative defensive style but you do hope we will more positive against the likes of Villa and Sunderland..
