Agree with most that's been said here. BK's quote sums it up for me: "We've plucked out a lot of good performances against good sides this year, but have been hindered by bizarre and frankly ridiculous formation, tactics and selection issues at times, especially against the traditionally 'lesser' teams." The big question for me is whether Guidolin has learned from those mistakes or not. If he can get us playing consistently well he's cracked it. If we finish strongly then he's well on his way to proving that he has indeed done so whilst also proving me wrong. If we are ****e in the remaining games then it's back to square one. Let's see.....
We have one game left and a lot of players will be missing for that game . Under Guido we have 24 points in 15 games . I'm not to sure what the ManCity game means at this point frankly , but I guess he is still under the microscope , a place he seems to thrive in .
If we'd lost that one, people would have wanted it included! Anyway, last week was the first time we'd scored 3 in a match this season....... Today, we scored 4 ...... Look out Citeh.
Yes, I do think Guidolin is still in the middle of his job application and that's exactly how it should be. It cannot and must not be forgotten that despite the fabulous results recently we've also played our worst football in ages under him. Certainly our worst since promotion. Now there may be valid reasons for that I don't know, but because of that imo he must get a couple of good performances out of his team, if not results, in the remaining games to convince me he's the man to take us forward. If he does, then I'll be sold - just. No more excuses, no more "he's tinkering", no more "he's experimenting". That time has well passed. He's shown he can get brilliant effort and results from his players at times but so could Monk. Now let's see if he can do it consistently. By the way, I don't mind if we lose our remaining games if the team plays well.
Definitely Villa, Norwich and Newcastle down, all are looking like Championship teams at best...................
Leave it to the away fans to sing Guidolin's name and fill him with pride , he will never forget it .. Guarenteed!!
What some of us refused to accept because we were in a relegation battle was that Guildo was suddenly introduced to all of us including the players and staff just two days after the club announced that Curtis was to stay in the job for the rest of the season. It did not help when our captain said he had to google his name to find out who he was......So the poor man with broken English was fighting a losing battle from day one and i myself have been one of those that could not take to him..... He started off being admitted into hospital so he was hampered straight away which was not the best starts for him but to his credit he used that time to study all the players in his squad and watched a few videos of our past games, To be honest none of that mattered to me i wanted instant results, i did not care that he had only been at the club for 5 minutes. Well Im a fair man who loves the club and i have to admit this man that has been here 5 minutes that nobody had heard of played around with the team still unsure of everyone and got the job done and did it in style. He has certainly changed my mind on his ability and got me thinking what can he do in a whole season and the only way we will find that out if he is given the job and i would never have said that even a week ago......fair play to him...
I agree he hasn't had a fair crack of the whip and if let off the leash by demanagement who knows ? Anyone else we bring in no matter what rep they have is only as good as the players they have and can attract here with a big enough kitty ! I like the guy even though he had a dodgy start with some iffy decisions he could be the one ?
