We have a good chance today for a result.... and then I saw the team he has selected.... I struggle to understand what he hopes to achieve by playing players out of postion with others on the bench who could play in their favoured postion and are showing form.

Got to give Amrabat and Berghuis (sorry on spelling) a start after the Villa game.

    3 FB on the bench + 2 'wingers' & 1 AM
How is the team going to play? Could be 3 at the back and 2 WB? No, Cathcart or Britos as FB's? Very confusing. Ighalo starts again.
The only thing for certain is Gomes in goal :)

And all this against a weakened (but still strong) Liverpool team.

    It's a nonsense isn't it?

Still, despite that we can win this.

Dying to see how we line up and the flexability & changes that can be made within that framwork.

    I am getting a feeling of deja-vue.

    An utterly wasted opportunity.

Juarado corner fails to clear the first defender.

    I'm in shock.

Well I'm not sure how both teams could play on the counter attack. Surely one team has to be attacking for the other to counter? If they are both counter attacking then they are really just attacking in turn. Or am I missing something?

Not bad so far - but then we know defence isn't such an issue...

Yes you are as one attack breaks down the defending team breaks forward on a counter attack which when it breaks down up the field the other team go on a counter attack. Im sure you follow............ Joe Allen scores for LIverpool in a game that deserves a goal in what has been an end to end game........

Yes I follow but am not convinced you are describing anything other than a normal attacking game. Also surely no Watford game ever deserves a goal for the opposition.

I must admit I have given up taking his team selections seriously - dangerously stubborn guy.

Quite an entertaining first half. Looked to me that the ref chickened out when Deeney was used as a step ladder.
